DVC point increase

Can someone explain if the points per night per room for DVC can increase? Or how all of that works? I want to be sure that buying would gaurantee that they can not decide to charge more down the road. Thanks!

the total pts per resort per year is fixed. DVC can only sell that total number of pts.

so in 10 years if everyone wants to go in early december, they can increase the number of pts per night to stay in that month, but they will have to decrease the required pts per night to stay in another month. similarly, they could increase the pts per night for weeknights but only by decreasing the pts per night for weekends to compensate.

these sorts of reclasses have only occurred once (or maybe twice) in the 15 years or so that DVC has been around. it's pretty rare.

your annual dues can and will increase but pts per week will most likely be the same in 30 years as they are now.
