I was listening to the podcast this week about all the updates coming to Disney Parks that will be effecting DVC members. To be honest I have not been paying super close attention to all the changes coming next year and it seems like we are going from masters degree required to post doctorate. But the discussion on the DVC AP and how that differs from day ticket guests got me thinking.

We have a trip planned next year in April for the 4 of us. Me, DW and DS have APs and our youngest DS does not (he was 2 last year). So we will have to buy him day tickets for our trip since we will wait until 2025 to buy our next AP.

This is more venting than anything, but I can already tell that my trip will be plagued with issues for park reservations linking us all together, Genie+ usage, ILL usage, and trying to figure all this out with a 3 YO on day tickets and the rest of us on APs.

Here is to hoping that the system kinks get worked out by April. It would have been nice if they just made it so hotel guests didn't need park reservations regardless of the type of ticket.

We've gone many times with a mix of APs and regular tickets in our group and have had no issues with purchasing ILL, G+, or making LL reservations. As long as you're all linked in someone's MDE account, you can handle those things without any issue. And if you're staying onsite at Disney (sounds like you'll be at a DVC location), you can make all your AP park reservations based on the resort reservation. By April, your little one with a regular ticket won't need a park reservation..... I think you might be looking for problems that won't necessarily exist! Unfortunately, some of the podcasts specialize in that approach!! Hope you have a fun and relaxing trip.....

As thanxfornoticin says, as long as everyone is linked in MDE and everyone has valid tickets for a given day, there's no problem with combining ticket types. We had a very successful family trip on which DH and I had our APs and the other family members had park hopper tickets. So for your trip, it won't matter that the 3 year old has a day ticket and everyone else has APs. Maybe you'll have to make park reservations for those of you who have APs, maybe not, but that won't affect G+, VQs, ADRs or anything else. Just make sure he's linked as F&F in your MDE, that his ticket is linked to him, and enjoy your visit!
