I just got an e-mail from DVC re: Helpful information about your upcoming trip........with all sorts of tips and reminders of members' perks for our trip next week.
Is this something new? We go 2-4 times a year and this is the first time I've gotten "personalized" mail for a trip. Even though I'm aware of the discounts and perks, I thought it was such a nice "Welcome Home" gesture!

We've never received anything like that before. You must really have an upclose and personal relationship with The Mouse!
 
We got this for our first trip home last October. I just assumed this was a standard practice.

Because we were doing a split day (5 days at SSR and 2 days at BCV), we got it twice. It was authored as being from our guide, but I thought that would be a standard email they send to everyone and automatically add your guide name.

I'm guessing that with some people it may be getting blocked by a spam filter? I had to go into my spam filter folder and pull it out. Or perhaps it is just not widely distributed to everyone. I did think it was a nice touch.
 
If it is from our guides, I won't expect one. We were not lucky in the guide lottery.
I get the Vacation Magic by email, and have made ressies, so stuff from Member Services gets through.... and I get the sales promotions, too, come to think of it.
You guys must just be special!
 

I got one before my last trip. Thought it was a nice touch...clearly an automated e-mail. I can always tell because they use the formal form of my name that I never use except on contracts, etc.

Still, I thought it was nice and also assumed everyone was getting them.
 
We started getting them last year. I think we got one shortly before our May trip, but I'm not positive. I know we definitely got one before our October trip.

I received it several times but never realized it came from my guide.

I need to pay closer attention to these things.

Marriott has beeen doing this for some time with all guests. They send a reminder email for your stay and it has links to restaurants, directions, features of the resort, etc. Nice touch.

It was nice to see DVC joining the party.
 
We've gotten one prior to each trip - our guide is Scott Harrell and it always comes from him.
