DVC only, no kids, no parks trip: How would you do it?

I had to ressurect this thread because we have decided to go ahead with this trip!!!

We have rescheduled and cancelled more times than I care to remember but we have finally settled on a plan for this year. We will be going on our no kids, no parks, dvc anniversary trip in June. We are just so desperate for a break and some alone time. We have never had babysitters or anything (3 children). We will be taking a family trip in August for the youngest's b-day. We figure we might as well get that unbearable August b-day trip over with.

We are both stressed out and have decided that we are good parents that deserve some time alone each year. This may become an annual trip!!!

We go several times a year with no kids. I wouldn't totally blow off the parks. Without the kids you can do and see things that you can not do with the kids. Lets not forget about Epcot, as adults you can really indulge yourself. We like to go April/May and do the Flower and Garden Show.

Its good to make time for you and your husband! Its not always about the kids!

Without the marriage, the kids have no family. People should take time out and reconnect. It's the healthiest thing you can do to maintain a happy family.

My DH and I are doing DVC wiht no kids in October. We have Friday thru Mon in Concierge and then move to a value to sleep before our last day. Most days will be spent hanging out, swimming and just exploring the world outside the parks.

I know we will be going into some parks cuz I want to check out the different coutries in Epcot more intently and I promised my DH that we would try and do the in the animation area and drawing the charcaters for as long as they'll let us stay there.

We tried it for the first time in January and and DH loved it so much he wanted to do it again but our DS4 was very antsy and need to leave. I promised him hours in there in Oct.

I can't wait to go with no kids.

It's nice to see new posts here from others who will be doing or have done adults only trips. It's really encouraging.

We may wind up going into epcot one of those days because we haven't been able to ever take it slow and really enjoy it. I'd like to do Animal Kingdom also because I just love that park but it just depends on our budget. We are trying to keep this trip at no more than 1,000 dollars. I'll play around with the numbers and see what we come up with.

I dream of this trip every night now. I was feeling so guilty about it when we first planned on doing it so I cancelled it, now I feel like it is the absolute right thing and a must do for our marriage.

reading this thread has me even more excited for our "no kids" trip!! We're new DVC members, and will have our first trip home in May with the kids and my mom in tow, for 7 nites. That will be nice, but then in Sept. dh and I go back for 3 nites to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. Can't wait!!!!!

Reading all the suggestions here is awesome. We're going to do some nice meals out, the around the world segway tour, sleep in, wander the boardwalk area, check out PI, and play in the parks at our own pace. I know it's not going to be nearly enough time to do everything I"d like, but DH can't bear the thought of leaving the kids for more than 3 nights.

I'm hoping that this will be something we can do yearly, now that we're DVC owners.

A couple of weeks ago my DH told me that he wanted for us to go to WDW in April to see Jay Black perform at Epcot. Now, the whole family (the two of us and 2 teenage DS's) have plans for a week's stay at AKV this June so at first I thought it was crazy.....but the two of us rarely go away so we did it!
We're staying at the Boardwalk for 3 nights! We plan on taking it easy, going to the pool, relaxing with a cocktail or two, having a couple of nice meals, etc. But we do plan on visiting the parks because we're Annual Passholders and couldn't imagine visiting without seeing the parks...just our preference. We're just going to enjoy things at a slower pace. The last time that we vacationed alone in WDW was on our honeymoon...21 years ago!
