"Disney Vacation Club has sent an email out to its members indicating that effective today (February 16th, 2023), the price of one-time-use Vacation Points has INCREASED. These points used to cost $19 per point, but are now $22 per point." - Disney Food Blog

Annual max temporary use points purchase per year is 24. Total cost now 24 * $22 = $528 vs prior total cost of 24 * $19 = $456.
Don't think this is a deal breaker for me. I've been close to needing a few extra points but never had to use this temporary points options.
Glad to know its available if only needing a handful of extra points.

Yeah +$3 wont change our mind. If they’d help us we’d still buy.

We use them a lot. We bought 3 separate use years so we would have access to 72 so that if my parents or daughter and her husband want to go, we can book them instead of them renting through a rental company. But then in years we don’t need them, we have no obligation. I love the option and they always are the same prices as the rental companies are charging. So I’m expecting those companies to raise their prices now

I’m not finding much info on purchasing one time use points to add to a stay with DVC points. I have two 50pt resale contracts and this could be a big help in making an actual two night stay possible. Are the 24pt one time each use year point purchase restricted to direct users? I’m assuming that you have to call member services to book a stay and purchase these points to make up a difference, because I’ve never seen it come up as an option when trying the website/dashboard.

Any dvc member has access to them. You have to call, and it has to be at 7 months. Cannot use them 7-11 month bookings.

As above, you have to call MS while in process of making a reservation at 7 months or less. What I’ve done is to book as much as I could online with my points at 8 AM, then at 9 AM I called MS to buy the OTUP and book the last night(s) to finish the reservation.

Can the points be added on to the end of a reservation that was booked right at 7 months? Or does the actual date the OTUP is used have to be within 7months?

Interesting question! I think that the reservation checkin date has to be within 7 months, if it’s going to be a single confirmation number, because the points DVC uses will not necessarily be home resort points for that resort. You will actually see a contract for those points on your dashboard.
