Here is my situation. I have these current reservations:
AKV Std View Studio from 11/28-12/01 and
BWV Pref View Studio from 12/01-12/04.
I have a waitlist to upgrade the BWV stay to a 1BR Std View with the same dates that will require using an additional 25 points.
I have 31 points available in my current Aug UY. I would like to change the AKV ressie to a Savanna view that will use an additional 9 points leaving 22 points in my current UY. What would that do to my BWV waitlist since it would require 25 points and I would only have 22 points? I could purchase 3 points from Disney using the One-Time-Use program. Do you have to have the points in "stock" to have a waitlist reservation or could I add a note to purchase the OTU points if the waitlist comes through? TIA

I believe I read that you can't waitlist with the intent to buy points to complete the reservation. The room needs to be available for you to buy the points.

I'm also not positive that they'll allow you to buy points if you still have some available but it wouldn't hurt to check.

Why not allow them to borrow for the waitlist? Then if you need points next year you could buy them.

Thx for the comments. I'll call MS and see what they will allow me to do. Thx again.

FYI, called MS and was told I cannot waitlist with the anticipation of purchasing "one-time points". The points have to be available for the waitlist to go through. I thought of borrowing enough points in case both waitlists came through, but if I understand borrowing/banking correctly, then I would not be able to bank them back to their original UY if the waitlist(s) did not become available. Oh well....it was a moot point anyhow. The only AKV-Kidani studio with Savanna view available was 11/28 & 11/30 - not 11/29. Why in the world is Monday 11/29 booked solid but not Sunday 11/28 and Tuesday 11/30? It was worth a try....sighhhhh.

They do not borrow points unless the waitlist fills so that could be an option. When you make the waitlist you just have to designate that they are allowed to borrow if the waitlist comes thru.
