Hi all -

I spent last night at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge, woke up and watched the meteor shower at 5am this morning from my balcony. It was TRULY magical. When you wish upon a star.....
I saw 27 total, in about an hours time. Since the meteor shower won't happen again for 100 years, I guess that is one for the book of my life!

Also, I went to BW for dinner and the Christmas trees are already up at BOTH resorts! They were having the tree lighting ceremony at VWL today at 4pm. Since we had a cold spell here the atmosphere was perfect!

All the best,
Shontell

Wow! That THAT is cool Shontell! Sounds like a glorious time :)

Glad to hear the christmas decor is getting along, we're making a last minute trip in 24 days now :D

That gives me warm and fuzzy goosebumps. Thanks for that great report of your experience!

Don't you just love the meteor showers? We were in Vero last Thanksgiving and there was a huge one. We woke up the kids about 3 am (when they said the best time to view them was) and all went down to the pier to watch them. At first we were a little surprised no one else was there, as this was all over the news for days, and I believe even in the VB literature we got upon check in. At any rate, it wasn't too long, before groups of people, most in pajamas :) joined us. It was so quiet and peaceful, and when big one would light up the sky, the whole crowd would just ooh and aww.

These types of things make for memories to last a lifetime.

WOW! That sounds fantastic. I am envious!

Goosebumps all over - Truly a Magical Moment - I mean hour:p

I was just corrected about the "100 years" thing...apparently only the Leonid shower will be visible in 100 years.....but there are more in between. So we can do it AGAIN - sometime.

Kel - I love your story about Vero. I considered going there because I knew it would be darker and easier to view...but the driving time kept me in Orlando. I'm sure your children will never forget that experience.

I had never even seen a shooting star, so to see 27 was breathtaking.

All the best,
Shontell

If today's the tree lighting ceremony, does that mean that all the decorations are up at WL? And is this something that happens every day at 4:00, some little ceremony as they turn on the lights? Planning to be there this coming Monday, visiting WL, and will plan it for 4:00 if there's a tree lighting ceremony every day.

Whew! I thought you were going to tell about someone croaking after their first DVC trip.

I'm glad the Disney magic worked for you. We had complete cloud cover for the Leonids.:(

What a magical morning! I can't think of a better place to experience it! Lucky you!

LOL - Erik you are killing me! I can't believe you thought that! I wouldn't post that even if it did happen...yucky!

Simbasmom, I think the ceremony was just for Monday....but I could be wrong. I was only there for 1 day. The decorations are up and they are beautiful. They even have a separate tree in the VWL section. Have a GREAT time!

All the best,
Shontell

Sounds great, wish I was there! We had cloud cover up here in the cold, hard tundra we call Connecticut. :teeth:
