DVC Offer for CA Members Only???

Yes, I know (bad influence) ... sorry!

Yes, the downpayment is calculated against the $89 figure ... however ... if buying at least 100 pts ... the savings offer is applied directly to the downpayment leaving you to settle the balance.

Examples:

If buying only 50 pts at $89 ... a 20% total down is $890. All of this comes from you at signing.

If buying 100 pts at $89 ... the 20% total down is $1780 ... but DVR pays $1000 using the $10/credit savings and you contribute only $780.

So ... an upgrade of 100 pts is less money out of pocket (for 2004) than 50 pts! (Where is the emoticon for [Big evil grin!]??)

Hmmm... I don't know if I should buy you a drink the next time I'm in San Diego or T.P. your house. =)

::still debating and pondering::

I talked to my Guide this AM just to make sure I had understood everything correctly - and as other people have posted - my understanding is correct.

I had one question that I forgot to ask him that maybe someone here can help with ===> If we go for 130 points and take the 2 APs, are those AP vouchers issued in our names, or are they transferable or sellable to someone else?

I'm trying to figure out a way to have no net out-of-pocket cost until we start paying the 80% balance next June. I thought if I could sell the APs, then I could just about cover what the $1300 from DVC didn't on the initial 20% down payment.

Thanks for your help.

So as I understand it with Phase 2 of SSR you only put down a deposit at this point and do not pay the Balance until your building opens in May or later correct?
And Maintenenace fees would be prorated based on when the building opens also?

Thanks

Yes, you pay your down payment now. Then your loan payments or balance due would be roughly around May 2005. The monthly dues are based on your use year. I have an August Use Year, so I would not start paying my dues until August.

Normal WDW AP vouchers do not have names on them so they are completely transferable. I'm assuming DVC doesn't have different AP vouchers than WDW so you should be able to do with them as you will.

There was a post on another thread dealing with the more general Phase 2 offer that stated that the AP certificates had no expiration date.
I assume that you could pay the difference to upgrade to a PAP when you go to exchange you certificates at TTC.

Thanks

Jim,
The AP vouchers do not have names on them, they would be transferable, they also have no expiration date.

Left,
Your out of pocket should be 10% of the initial price, before the discount. so 100 points at $89 means $890 downpayment from buyer plus $1000 towards downpayment from Disney.

Looks like a great deal, i'm glad we don't live in CA, I can't buy a third contract this year:(
