When my 180 day out window opens, do I call MS or the WDW Dine #? I know if I call the WDW Dine #, I have to give them a resort reservation #. Do they take the DVC resort reservation #, or do I have to call MS when they open on that day? TIA for any help!

You can call either - if you are trying for something that is very popular (CRT Breakfast or V&A), then definitely call Dining. They open earlier (and stay open longer) than MS. Also, I believe MS is now just transferring you to Dining anyway.

I have called Dining many times. If they ask for a reservation number, just tell them you have a DVC reservation (which is true). They haven't ever wanted the specific number, probably because they don't have access to the DVC reservation system.

They'll ask for a resort reservation number, but by no means do you have to give them one. People make ADRs when they haven't made resort reservations yet or are staying offsite. Locals make ADRs, too.

If you don't give them a resort reservation number, they'll just tie the ADRs to your phone number.

Well that's what I thought. However, I called today to find out the exact day my booking window opened. The CM said I could only make my ADR's for the length of stay if I provided them with my resort reservation number. Otherwise, I'd have to call each day that the 180 mark opened up. Of course I didn't think of this ques. until I got off the phone. That's why I was wondering if the DVC # would be enough. I hope I can do what CarolMN said and just TELL them I have a DVC reservation? :confused3

You only need to provide a resort reservation if you are trying to book 180 + 10. Otherwise home phone number will suffice. I did use a DVC reservation # one time when booking 180 +.

Regardless there is no need to call each day at 180 mark unless you're trying to get CRT, Chef's Table, maybe Le Cellier???. For most trips I try to make one call sometime in the first month after the booking window opens and usually have great success in getting everything.

The DVC ressie # was sufficient a few weeks ago when I made our ADR's 180+10 for spring break. I wouldn't have needed it except that I wanted to use the +10 option and make all of our ADR's for the week with that one call.
