DVC/My Disney Experience Login Question

Can I utilize the same passwords/user names for both accounts? :)

You should use the same info on all Disney websites, if you don't you can have problems. That includes ALL Disney sites including ABC and ESPN.

I have an opposite opinion.

If my Disney.com/mydisneyexperience.com account were to be hacked/compromised, people could screw up my dining reservations, but couldn't change my accommodations.

If someone got in to my DVC member account, they could cancel and make reservations with my points....this could be major damage. If somebody cancelled my upcoming trip today, I wouldn't be able to rebook anything close to what I have now. Is DVC going to cancel another member's reservation in order to restore mine?

For this reason, I treat my DVC account like a bank account, with a random/tough password and borderline gibberish username.

Is there any reason not to do this? What kind of problems might I encounter?

^ It's not a real issue if clearing your cookies/cache is something you are comfortable doing when an problem arises. My disney.com and my DVCmembers.com log-ins have the same user name and when I forget to log out of on before moving into the next it has an issue recognizing my correct password. Clearing the cookies/cache usually solves the problem.

You don't have any choice in this.

If you wish to use Fastpass+, Magic Bands and MDE, you have to have the same username/email and password for both accounts.

If not, as Bill said, it won't work.

I have different usernames for MDE & DVC and I'm not having any issues with FP+, MagicBands or MDE. I can log on to MDE using either my email or DVC username and everything displays correctly.

I had the same opinion/worry for this reason.
I noticed today I had trouble logging into my DVC account, I went on MDE to put in my resort reservation for online check in, but then when I logged out of MDE I was then able to log in to my DVC account without trouble.

Is it linking all of your reservations automatically to your MDE, your DVC bookings, your ADRs, your Fastpass+, tickets?

If so they must have tweaked the system, as when I set mine up I was told if I did not pick one user name and password for both, it would not link everything.:confused3

I went back to test mine, it will only accept the one, I chose. If I try to use the other I get this error message:
Error: Sorry, the Email or Member Name and/or Password do not match any in our system. Please try again or create a new account.

Looks that way...

Not sure if I manually put in my reservation number (a while ago) or if it loaded automatically, but everything I expect to be there is usually there.

I think I often/occasionally get this prompt page when I go to DVCmember.com...there's a cancel button at the bottom that takes me to the regular DVCMemeber login page.

With all the technical glitches we hear about with MyMagic+, I definitely don't want my DVC points reservation to be accidentally obliterated by a new NextGen system....

I have to manually link my room reservations, and I don't mind doing that. ADRs, FP+ show up after being scheduled. AP was linked manually, as there is no other way.

I have too much linked to MDE now, so I will not be calling MS to have them screw up my profile.

All of mine has worked without any problems or glitches once both accounts were linked.

I am not worried with it. It has been very convenient to sign into one account and be able to access everything and it link all of automatically.

Also very nice that all of the reservations, ADRs and booked Fastpass+ can be printed off.

I am enjoying the new changes greatly. :thumbsup2

I have two separate logins also. For my DVC login, my resort reservation shows up. For my MDE login, my dining reservations show up. I've tried linking both ways (dining to resort and resort to dining) and neither way will link. It will tell me that the reservation is already linked to the primary (me). I had the Magic Bands option so I'm customizing those but I have a feeling that I'll still have to use the KTTW card to pay for dining and purchases. If I input my email address, only the dining shows up. Frustrating!

We arrive October 20. At this point, I don't want to chance having IT mess up my reservations, dining or resort. So I'm thinking I'm going to wait until the trip is over to call and get the accounts linked properly so there won't be anything to mess up that can't be fixed before our next trip.:confused3

My two accounts are fully linked but still my DVC reservations do not show up automatically on the MDE website I have to input the reservation number manually for it to work.

I didn't realize the accounts should link. So it seems I can log into MDE with either my old Disney login (email address) or my DVCmember.com name. But both accounts use the same email and only one has my manually linked reservations.
