DVC "Moment" in Lynbrook, Long Island

I'm in Malverne and will definitely look for your car! We own at BC, so we're practically neighbors!

Hey that'd be great!! It's a 2002 Silver Mazda 626 with a spoiler on the back. And of course with all the Disney stuff on the car it's hard to miss, LOL.

BTW not that it really matters, but I was driving through Lynbrook on my way to the Friday's in RVC when the BCV guy yelled to me, but I actually started out in Valley Stream, that's where I live. You and I are still neighbors though of course! I'll be at the Malverne Cinema Sunday in fact, it's my favorite local movie theatre. And we bowl at San-dee lanes. Malverne is a really nice town. Although I have been in VS 23 years and am happy here, if I had it to do over I'd have chosen Malverne.

These posts are fun to read, thanks for all the great stories!

I saw the woman in the DVC stickered car yesterday at open house at school. She even had on a Mickey Mouse t-shirt. Unfortunately, I embarrassed my son by hiding in the bushes :rotfl: (no no - I was talking to one son's teacher, so I couldn't stop her to chit chat - but now I know her face...one step closer!)

*sneaking off to plot more* :teeth:

Laura

Woman WHERE are your priorities??? DVC vs your son's education?? And DVC lost??
LOL! Good luck on your mission, this post will self destruct in 10 seconds.

Technically you're right Carrie--but it was still a moment!

Yes, I'd love to meet a fellow DIS DVCer. I think January I'll meet a couple from the WISH team. Still trying to figure out how to convince dh he wants to go meet people I met on the internet while we're in WDW. Got to work on that one!

idratherbeinwdw - I am in Valley Stream and Malverne a lot. Now that I know what you are driving my DH and I will have to look for you. I drive a 2000 Bronze Isuzu Rodeo with Mermaid Plates and a Valentine Mickey on my antenna. :wave2:

Good to know, thanks, I will sure to be on the lookout for your car. I'm in Franklin Square fairly frequently, as we go to Boulder Creek on Hempstead Tpke and to the Franklin Movie theater.

So your Plates say "Mermaid"? Or am I misunderstanding and there is a mermaid on the plates somewhere? BTW my plates say DISWORLD. Hope to run into you sometime--oops bad choice of words--hope to see you sometime!

DW had a Disney moment in Saratoga Springs, NY yesterday. The place is crawling with the tourists for the race season. She has a Disney vanity plate along with WDW & DVC oval stickers and a guy pulled up next to her at a stop light, gave her the thumbs up and mouthed "Disney".

I see from your tag you're VWL folks, but it still is so appropriate this happened to your wife in a town that a DVC property is named for!

:sunny:
One day while returning a video rental I started talking to the girl
behind the counter there about Disney and she tells me about her
dad owning a DVC...it turns out he's my neighbor! Unbelievable!
So, I call up my neighbor about ownership...we met...we talked...that was in Sept. '04...
I bought in Oct. '04! :bounce: Yee Ha!
Maybe we should start a Long Island chapter of the DVC?
I'm 15 min. from MacArthur Airport...toss in a non-stop to Orlando...
it dosen't get better than that! :cool1:

Well I'm five minutes from Kennedy and Jet Blue, so nyah nyah, LOL!

Actually MacArthur is very cool, so much smaller than JFK. I love that you can actually drive there and leave your car and not pay an arm and a leg for it (as compared to JFK, where it's cheaper to pay for a Town car to take me there than it is to park)! I've gone from MacArther a couple of times when I went with my friend who has uber-points for SW airlines. Very convenient, if I lived closer (it's 45 minutes from me) I'd go from MacArthur more frequently.

I like your idea of a DVC LI chapter, I wonder if we could have a DVC meet somewhere on the Island, that'd be really fun!

I think we should ALL buy the DVC sticker for our cars...maybe we can get them online.

OK...next trip......I know the first thing I'm buying!! :earboy2:
