DVC Mike live from VWL/Poly (12/6-12/18/08)

Ditto DVC Mike

How are the other members in person? Are there any Forum Folks that you have met?

I didn't meet any other DISboards members. I met a few folks from another site, however.

My WD likes to go to the Mixer to get the pewter Christmas tree ornaments.

Besides the early sale this morning at the World of Disney at DTD, there is a property-wide sale going on. All t-shirts and hats are 40% off. Good time to pickup a Wilderness Lodge t-shirt.

Tonight is dinner at Victoria & Alberts!

we were just there last week and at the outlets the appeal was an extra 20% off if you have a car you can get some awesome deals!!

We got back from Victoria and Albert at the Grand Floridian. It was a nice 3-hour long fine dining experience.

I had:
- Dungeness Crab Cannelloni with Baby Greens, Radishes and Caviar
- Minnesota Elk Tenderloin over Stewed French Lentils with Baby Brussels Sprouts
- Carmelized Nantucket Scallops with Zellwood Corn Ragout
- Australian “Kobe” Beef Tenderloin with Smoke Garlic Potato Puree ($35 extra)
- White Chocolate Gelato with Tableside Shavings and Micro Orchids
- Tanzanian Chocolate Pyramid, Hawaiian Kona Chocolate Souffle and Peruvian Chocolate Ice Cream and Puff Pastry

My DW did the $60 wine pairing and really enjoyed it; however, it was a bit too much alcohol for her and she left a bit tipsy. They prepared special dishes for my DW due to all her food allergies.

My DW loved the whole experience so much she wants to go back again and again. Since I didn’t get the wine pairing the total bill was “only” $370. I think I’d rather reserve it for special occasions.

Glad you had such a wonderful dinner at V&A! I hope I can go one day.
Thanks for all of your great pictures!

Uh oh! :sad2: You've done it now! ;) I didn't realize this was your 1st time to V&A? Yes, it is very expensive, but very worth it on special occasions. We've been many times and will be back for Christmas Eve dinner at the Chef's Table. :cloud9: I'm glad your wife had a good time and they prepared her meal to accommodate her food allergies. The wine pairings do add up! Sometimes we split a pairing between the DH & I, and sometimes we just get a nice bottle of champagne for the meal. Not sure what we're going to do on Christmas...

Anyway, I hope you continue to have a wonderful vacation! How's the weather down there? - we arrive in a few days! :thumbsup2

Today should be around 76, followed by 80 or so the next few days. Looks to be great weather until we head home on Thursday.

Spent the morning at the Magic Kingdom. A bit cloudy but otherwise great weather.

Mike I just found your report and am enjoying it thoroughly. Love your pictures, its the next best thing to being there myself. Glad to hear there is good weather since we'll be there in a few days. ;)

Mike,

Great pictures. We just got home yesterday!! Have fun the rest of your trip!

Glad you enjoyed your dinner at V&A's. We'd love to go there one day to celebrate a special occasion. Thanks for the pictures of MK - my favorite place in the whole world! :santa:

Stopped by the DVC models at SSR. Just had to look again at the BLT models. We're very excited about staying there.

I won't bother posting the pics, as most everyone has seen them, however the picture below summarizes the rec/dining options.
