dvc membership

i really have a timeshare w/ ii.
i traded--luckily- into the beach club villas in aug.
i have to pay $95 to become a dvc member for my week stay. can i show my room key to get dining discounts?
20% discount really adds up for my family.
also is there a list of places that offer the discount?

Just staying at a DVC resort doesn't entitle you to the discount. I'm pretty sure you will need to show them the blue DVC Member card to get a discount.

AN II trade in fee of $95 is NOT a temporary DVC member fee, it is a resort fee facility charge assessed to those trading in through II. No, II trade ins are not entitiled to DVC member perks.

That's correct. WDW requires a valid Blue DVC card to be shown at time of serivce/purchase. It does not apply to traders/renters, etc.

i guess i thought that since i am now at guest at the bc villas i was entitled to something else besides the reort itself.
oh well, i don't care--i just love the epcot area.
we stayed at bwv and this was unbelievable.
can't be disappointed--we are going to magic--right

You will, however, be entitled to all the "perks" of any other WDW guest,including free parking at the theme parks (if you chose to drive and not use Disney transportation), delivery to your resort of packages purchased in the themeparks, use of the WDW transportation system, room charging privlidges throughout WDW and early entry/late hours (EMH) at the theme parks.

I'm not sure if II trade ins show "DVC Member" on the room key, or not.

The 20% discount you are thinking of is the DDE card, which AP and Florida residents can purchase separately. Nearly all of the DVC food discounts are only 10%, (a couple are 15% and one is 20%--Sunday brunch and lunch at House of Blues). The restaurants listed are pretty limited, so you won't be missing all that much.
