In doing our add on yesterday, I found out from our guide that there is another DVC member with the same exact first and last name as mine. I didn't think our last name was all that common. Apparently I was wrong. Imagine DH's surprise when I told him there were 2 of me! At least our husbands first names are different. Wouldn't that have been something if our hubby's first names had also been the same. That would be to strange for me.

I guess if I ever call MS without my membership number, I'll have to make sure they have the correct me. Hey, maybe it's the other member with the same name using our points! I knew we couldn't have been using them all ourselves.;)

On a serious side, I thought if there are "two" of me, there could be multiples of other people out there. So, as a word of caution, make sure when you call MS that you are actually making ressies or what not for yourself, not someone else who might have the same name.

We just added our newborn son onto our health insurance.

Strangly enough in just the Atlanta region there are now 12 Kevin Donnelly's with Kaiser Permanente insurance. There are 3 that have the same middle initial as my son.

Very good advice, however, MS will not make a reservation without your member number or social security number. No doubt for reasons just like this. :)

I have a duplicate DVC member with my same name in NJ. I always tell them my state. This used to be before I memorized my DVC#. But they used to pull me up by name as most don't verify ss# or DVC# if you are just checking for availabilty. Never had a screw up or anything.

We've got a common last name. Several years ago at check-in, the CM had to look me up for some reason. When she entered my first and last name, she came up with at least a dozen screens full of "me". Even with my middle initial there were a couple of screens.

So when CloneAid comes around soliciting customers, I'll say no thanks, there are already plenty of me

I have a very common name - there are tons of people with that name - so I always assume that and take my reservation receipt with me.

It is so funny - at the front desk - the CM's always try to find me by my name - after they ask me my birthday they generally give up and just use the reservation number.

I just closed on a resale and when I called MS to get my number they told me there were 3 people with my name and 2 had the same middle initial. Only once before have I run into a mix-up with someon having the same name. When I was in college there was someone with same first, midlle , last name and she wasn't a very good student. I kept getting her academic probation stuff. Ms was really good about verifying the address before making a reservation.

I have fairly unusual first and last names. But there is another lady by my exact same first, middle, and last name that goes to my same doctor. So anytime I call there I have to tell them my birth year to make sure they pull out the right file.

I also found out that there are TWO other people with my same first name, last name, and middle initial that own an identical mutual fund to one of mine. I got a letter from the company confirming the emptying out of my account and transfer into such-and-such other fund. I hadn't authorized anything like that at all! When I called the company (trying to control my panic  ), they found out that they had moved the wrong person's money. That's how I found out about the two other people with my same name.

Makes me wonder how the John Smiths of the world stay sane! :p

I have an unusual last name (for this country). I was wandering through the Orange County deed recording site one day and found several other DVC'rs with the same last name.

I have a somewhat unusual name--I always thought--until I opened my bank statement several years ago, and found a deposit for over $63,000!! I called and thanked them, but noted that my bank account is usually near 0 by the end of the month, and, unless I had suddenly won some contest, the money wasn't mine. It turns out that there is another me out there, who's account number is different from me by only 2 transposed numbers. It was nice while it lasted...;)

When I was at WDW in June 2002, DH and I were in one room with guide making our purchase and there was another one of me in the next room with her DH making their purchase. She was Ann and I am Annmarie! I thought that was very strange but I guess more common than I thought.
