I've heard that DCL leaves "gifts" in the staterooms of DVC members. Is this true? And if so, what types of gifts does DCL give to DVC members?

Just curious, cause I'm getting SOOOOOO EXCITED!:cool1: for our April cruise! WoooHOOO

Let's see -
One time it was a box filled with $100's,
Then on another cruise we got the keys to our new BMW,
Oh and on our last cruise we got the deed for Cindy's Castle!

ahhhh....wait a second....those were all in my dreams! :rotfl:

Seriously,
In Jan we got a nice wooden box, lanyards, pins, hats and a door magnet.

Talk about Member Perks!!! That would be better than free Valet!!:lmao:

We just returned in January from MV Dream. Here are a few items we received. The box and lanyards were placed in our cabin, the hat is from the DVC Member meet is Studio Sea:wizard:

The gifts are actually from DVC Marketing cruise team, not DCL. Your cabin steward leaves them in the villa.

Love the new hat and now we have his and hers boxes! :)

The hats are really nice and the best they've ever given out IMHO. They fit really well on an adult head and look good too. We received 5 in each of our two staterooms. We've been giving them out as gifts since we returned from the Dream three weeks ago.

I agree HBC! I wore one of old hats to the member meeting and have several going back to 2003 and I dont think we have ever received a white hat at all! I really like the Mickey silohuette. Did not receive them in our stateroom.
They may have gone to putting them in the staterooms because many took more and some members missed out and had to stop by the desk to get caps and other goodies.

A few more pics from the Member Meet on DCL!

I forgot about the shopping bag and the Mickey Pin!:thumbsup2

All our cruises have been on cash except the MV, and DVC always found us!

Our trip in November they just could not remember we were DVC members. I paid cash and when I didn't get any magnets I went by and asked the DVC CM. She said it was not listed, so updated their list. But it never helped. My DD was booked under our DVC free cruise offer in a different cabin, so when she got her gift (wooden box), we stopped again and asked about it and they gave us one too, plus we stopped and had to pick up magnets too. Then they did a phone call to the room telling members to stop by and pick up a passport holder. My DD told me and we did it, but never got the call. We also got a few freebies at the member meeting (reuseable grocery bag, a pin, a hat, and a beach bag). My first 2 cruises (cash) they knew we were members, so I didn't have too much of a problem missing out on the DVC giveaways. Our trip prior to this, we got a DVC album for pictures and memories and it had a DVC inkpen and some lanyards in the back.

If you did not book your cruise on points, how do they we are DVC members?

We did not book on points but they must have us in their Castaway Club system as DVC members.

We had a welcome when we arrived and every day of our 4 day cruise had a different gift in the room. A couple of time we had to go to the DVC desk to pick up our gift. One of those was two blue DVC grocery bags that are really nice. The other was a DVC print.

Based on the number of gifts, I was thinking they must have data on early Dream Cruisers as having disposable income. They were really working the crowd.

We did not receive the box in our room for our cruise... alot of DVC members did not, but we just told them at the desk and they had the surprises at the DVC meeting.

I won a great passport holder and they were giving out pins a lot too.

I was mad someone stole our DVC magnets off our door, but the DVC team on the Magic was great... they replaced them right away! :)

We sailed twice on points and have always gotten hats, lanyards, pins, and a captains book to record events on the cruise with a place to put pictures. They also leave pictures of where the cruises go and notes. And, of course, the door magnets that say Welcome Home Members.
