On my facebook account im a member of some DVC vacation groups. Once sent an e-mail stating the following... but I haven't been able to confirm this anywhere else.

"a Disney Vacation Club Member sale will take place at the sprawling World of Disney store in Downtown Disney® Marketplace at the Walt Disney World® Resort on June 6 from 6:30-9:30 a.m.

Beyond the door busters, Members will find half-off items marked with blue balloons, "super secret surprise merchandise" offerings at the registers and a free gift to the first 1,000 shoppers."

Were going there then, but I wanted to make sure this is happening.

The sale was announced in a member email yesterday.

Lucky you who get to be there! I am seeing alot of cool offerings for D23 members also..not any I can take advantage of, but still..I will, however, be in Denver for the Christmas Carol train! :)

Isn't this also the AP sale too? Sounds crowded.

The summer savings start at Downtown Disney!

The World of Disney Passholder Sale returns!

Not so sure about the whole worm thing, but the early bird will definitely get great discounts at the World of Disney® store! On June 6 at 6:30 a.m., Passholders can get discounts not available in the Parks!

"It's back by popular demand," said Dara Trujilo, World of Disney Manager of Merchandise. "Last year we didn't know what to expect, but our Passholders responded so well that we thought we had to offer this again. This year we said, 'Let's add some new surprises.'"

One thing different will be door busters—special sale items throughout the store. Last year, door busters were announced at certain times. This year all the door busters will be out when Guests arrive, and when they are gone...they're gone! Be on the lookout! The door busters will be marked with yellow balloons.

Along with door busters, Guests will find 50% off select merchandise items (these items will be marked by blue balloons), super secret surprise merchandise offerings at the registers AND a free gift to the first 1,000 Guests!

Beat the summer rush!

The new time and date should give families extra time to shop, eat and explore all there is to do at Downtown Disney® Marketplace. "We felt that the timing would be better," said Dara. "The whole family can spend their day shopping and actually taking their time at Downtown Disney."

A new date. A new time. A great way to get awesome discounts on Disney merchandise! Save the date for the Disney Passholder Sale at the World of Disney store...June 6 at 6:30 a.m. (and if you don't have a calendar or dayplanner, you can probably find one there)!

The Disney Passholder Sale
Date: June 6, 2009
Time: 6:30 a.m.
Place: World of Disney store

Hmmm, we were sort of thinking this might be fun, but it may be so crowded, I don't know now. With Mom in her manual wheelchair, a big crowd can be hard to maneuver through. And if she does walk it, she could easily be accidently knocked down in an overcrowded store.

I was at the Christmas passholder sale last year. I'd sooner spend a weeks vacation at Six Flags than do that again. It took over an hour to check out. And there were lines like this at every register. So of course just think how that made the flow through the store.

Then 90% of the stuff on sale was the exact same price after the sale everywhere on site (the t-shirts and mugs etc.)

Yes, that is the AP sale. I didn't get any e-mail from DVC, but I got the Mickey Monitor for my PAP which told me about that sale. That's the morning we leave for home, so we may check it out.

I was at the Christmas sale too and I agree it was extremely crowded. Now my husband is insisting that he will go with me to this one which means we would have to bring the baby. I am NOT happy about that one little bit. There is no way I want to subject her to those crowds, the pushing and shoving and overall rudness that accompanied the Christmas one. If he insists on going then he can go by himself or I just won't go and will stay with her and sleep in. It isn't worth having to worry about keeping track of anyone but myself in that kind of environment. And I think we bought only a couple of stuffed animals and a couple of kid's cups. They ran out of the refreshements before we got any and there was no organiziation to most of their "deals". Some cast members were standing in a crowd of people and throwing items at their discretion to those who were jumping up and down and yelling "over here", "me me me" and "I want one". Well I wanted one too but I couldn't see over the crowd of people to make my wants known(very short, I am) and catching one that got by a tall person was not going to happen either. Overall, there was very limited supply on the most desired things and unless you were willing to act like a complete jack*** and plow your way through hurting others or yourself in the process you were going to get nothing or the undesirable leftovers that noone else wanted. We got there about 6:35 am and it took a good 30 minutes standing in line before we even got into the store. By then most everything was gone or impossible to get to.

I did hear others say that Christmas was better than the one they had last time as Disney had learned a few things from their previous experience with a similar sale but it was still a madhouse.

Yet I would be willing to go again if I don't have to take anyone with me that I would be responsible for....

The lines to check out were astronomical

Chuck, although I cannot gauge how this sale will end up being I can tell you that last Christmas those who had baby strollers with them basically couldn't move. I was with my 17YO DD and we had trouble wading through the store. People were really at a standstill in several areas of the store and those that were moving moved at a snail's pace or even slower. Perhaps if you show up super-early and are one of the very first to enter the store you could navigate it with ease and get out of there before it gets bad. As for later in the afternoon.....:confused3 Maybe the crowd thins out near the end??? Probably not though.

Also, parking was a nightmare even at 6:30 AM. I don't remember how full the handicapped parking was....

I hope that it is run better than the Christmas sale was run. That was my worst experience ever at Disney World, had me crying tears of frustration in the world of Disney.

All of your experiences with the Christmas sale has me leaning toward simply leaving Mom in the room and going to the store myself, or simply skipping the sale altogether. :scared1:
