How does the purchasing of DVC merchandise actually work?

If it’s my name on the deed, can my partner buy merchandise, the magic bands for example? How do they even check you’re a member anyway?

Well, for merchandise discounts, they require your DVC Member Card and a photo ID.

In general, no one cards buying merch.

They may card for the discount. But no card to prove you are DVC to buy stuff.

I don’t believe that DVC merchandise is restricted to DVC members. As mentioned, you have to have a DVC blue card in your own name to receive the discount.

Some of the stores did require me to show our DVC member card when buying specific DVC items (pins mainly but some other merch) but it didn't seem to be everywhere.

Many thanks for all the replies! As long as my better half can get discount on the mountains of stuff she buys, I’ll be with her so should be fine

I bought a couple DVC magic bands online and somehow got the discount even though I don't have a blue card.
