What is required to enter the new member lounge in Epcot? Just your DVC member card?

We will be going with a larger group and splitting up some days. My parents technically have the DVC member cards, so I'm guessing even though it's all the same last name that they couldn't give me one of their cards if they don't go to Epcot with us some day?

If you aren't a member, you can't use it unless you are with a member with their card and ID.

According to the video I saw, there are many charging stations

This. There are some tables that have them in the center of the table. Other seating areas have them between the seats (down by your feet).

Do they just provide USB access and you bring your own cord, or do they have those universal phone charging stations that come with all the connections? I don't mind bringing my own cord, but if I didn't have to, that's less stuff to put in my purse.

BYOC (Bring your own cable).

I was there yesterday and very impressed. you sign in at the figment gift shop and go up the stairs or the elevator. At the top, there are DVC reps that can help with any questions - they have charging cables you sign out and return when done. There were plenty of seats but it could get crowded. They have free soda and they passed out free munchies - crackers, chips, and gummy bears. A very pleasant surprise. There are also a few TVs too, a coffee machine, and IPads on each table (but ours was not charged). We stayed about 30 minutes enjoyed the down time. I wish they would do this at the other parks - but I hope it doesn't raise the annual dues too much. But for now I give it an A++

No need to worry about dues b ecause of the lounge. It's being paid for by DVD (sales), not DVC. Since the lounge is not available to all members (i.e.,everyone who is required to pay dues), it can't be paid for by our annual dues.

We were there the other day and they have universal cords that you can sign out to use at the desk then return them when you're done! Lots of places to charge...free soda & snacks...good A/C....

What do you mean it isn't available to all members? Because it requires Epcot admission? I just want to clarify. I would love to see one of these lounges at every park.

Members that purchase resale beginning 4/4/2016 won't receive a member id card. A member id card & photo id is required to access the member lounge.

While it's true that resale purchasers after 4/4 will not have access, I don't believe the mechanism has actually been determined. I do not believe the "no membership ID card" thing is true.

Then how will they stop recent resale purchasers from taking advantage of perks/benefits they are not eligible for?

That's a great question. Have they actually clarified which "perks" resale members won't get? The document they released said "certain" discounts. Since most folks argue that everyone should still have a access to TOTWL, and probably the 10% merchandise discount, the ID cards still seem necessary. I'm not even convinced the annual pass discount is going to be restricted. We're really still waiting on actual experiences before we know anything for sure. Except for the Epcot lounge. That one's pretty clear.

Have you reviewed the "Membership Extras" document on the website? Among other things it says:

Membership Extras, such as vacation options in the Disney and Concierge Collections, certain discounts, offers, and special events are incidental benefits. These incidental benefits are subject to change or termination without notice, may require the payment of a fee and cannot be combined with any other offers or promotions. Membership Extras are also subject to availability and block-out dates may apply, including high periods of demand such as Christmas and New Year’s Day. To receive any Membership Extras, purchasers must present a valid Disney Vacation Club Membership Card along with a corresponding valid photo ID. Disney and Concierge Collections options are not available for ownership interests not purchased directly from Disney Vacation Development, Inc. after March 21, 2011, and, effective April 4, 2016, Members who have not purchased an ownership interest directly from DVD will not have access to Membership Extras.

Following that, is a description of the Membership Extras. IMO, this is an official document and pretty much covers the perks resale purchasers won't get. It's posted under the "Important Member Documents" link under "My DVC Membership" tab on the Members' Website.
