We are a family of 7 that is looking to book a week at an off site resort just to see how they compare and to save points for a larger rental every other year. What place do you recommend and why? I have seen Bonnet Creek and a couple of others mentioned. We want to be within 5-10 minutes of parks. Thanks for your help!

we used to be dvc members, sold a few years ago, we LOVE bonnet creek and get amazing deals on ebay, a 2br suite for 100 a night...Ive heard some go for less. It is right around the corner from the boardwalk....the units are much bigger than dvc units, pools everywhere. We have been 3 times and are planning our next visit, do not miss staying on disney property at all...we are still RIGHT THERE!!!! good luck:)

Get AT LEAST three bedrooms. With seven people, you might prefer four.

For a travel party of that size, I would actually recommend a pool home, possibly at Windsor Hills. It is a 12 minute drive between WH and the TTC parking lot----I can start the Wishes CD when I start the car in the TTC lot, and we are "home" before the soundtrack finishes. You are closer to all of the other parking lots.

Bonnet Creek would be even closer---it is right next to CBR---and my family prefers it slightly. But, I have a family of four, not of seven, and it's not quite as efficient for a larger party.

the nicer timeshares are a little further - the Marriotts, Hilton grand vacation club, and another that I don't remember the name...

We own DVC and at Sheraton Vistana Villages. We can often get back to SVV in 10 minutues from leaving the parking lot of any of the parks. Sheraton Vistana Resort is even closer. We like both DVC and SVV for different reasons. We can trade into RCI with DVC and trade into Interval International with SVV. We also get/use Starwood points for Sheraton Hotels around the country/world with our SVV timeshare.

We are also a family of 7-DH and I, three kids and grandparents. We have had great luck this year renting at Windsor Hills. This is a beautiful gated development with a great pool. We are annual passholders and have gone to Orlando 4 times already this year. Each time we ended up renting from somebody different because it was always last minute due to my crazy schedule. Every time we got a 3 bedroom condo that was clean and nicely furnished. Having 3 teenagers we appreciated the full kitchen and 2 bathrooms. It takes literally 5 minutes to get to WDW. It usually worked out to be about $100/night with taxes and cleaning fees. About the same I just paid for one value room in Disney!
