Does anyone have any information on the DVC gifts members get? I was on the member website and a member posted a picture of what I am assuming was a gift bundle that had various DVC hats, bags, tags, etc. Anyone know anything about this?

13 years for me, no gifts. Well, except for the canvas tote bag I got when I purchased. I'm sure the gift basket was for shooting the commercial.

Keep in mind that since we as members pay the operating costs, if we routinely got big fancy gift baskets, we'd be paying for them ourselves out of our maintenance fees. :) The gift basket for the commercial likely came out of Disney Vacation Development's marketing budget.

I have been a member for 16+ years...we have been gifted beach bags, luggage tags, picture frames, a beautiful canvas picture and SO many more. This is not including all of the swag you get when you go on a members only cruise...that stuff is off the charts!

I love DVC and they have showed me in SO many ways they love me back!

In 12 years of ownership, the only gift we ever received from DVC was a canvas bag we were sent after we complained to member satisfaction about a stay. We also received 2 DVC coffee mugs from a CM at DHHI once as a welcome, but it wasn't from DVC, but the CM we knew.

The majority of the swag or gifts I recieved from DVC are hats, pins, lanyards and bags from the various Disney cruises I have been on. I have also received a nice looking nut lei, hat, and lanyard from my visit to Aulani. Oh yeah, the biggest gift I recieved was on a Disney cruise and that was $500 shipboard credit during a DVC raffle. Aside from that (and I'm not complaining) I have never recieved any other DVC gifts from my stays at any other DVC resorts.

"Gifts" typically come from events hosted by Disney Vacation Club. At WDW they have weekly "Welcome Home Wednesdays" events at the Boardwalk. All attendees are usually given some modest gift (baseball caps are common.) They also provide refreshments and use drawings & trivia contests to hand out more items.

Aulani and Disneyland host their own weekly get-togethers. There is info on DVCMember.com.

DVC members sailing on Disney Cruise Line typically receive some items...although I've read reports that such items have tapered off recently.

Over the years we've received luggage tags, magnets, passport holder, tote bags, lanyards, lithographs, trading pins, christmas ornaments, keychains and at least a half-dozen ball caps from attending different events.

Unless it was something we received on the boat for either the members cruise or for attending the meeting we've received nothing since 1999.

There were meetings up in TTOTW to explain about Aulani and DVC in general. You had to sign up to go to one. We got a pin and canvas bag from that and DH won $100 gift card. :goodvibesWe have gotten many hats from either the meetings on the cruise ships or from Welcome Home Wednesdays. On Board we have gotten stationary portfolios and every cruise we get a pin. This is the current, Pirate Mickey.

DVC doesn't have any reason to give out free stuff, there is a reason for everything.

If you attend a sales meeting, DVD pays for any give-a-ways to create a positive buying environment.

Member Cruise gifts are paid for by the cruise guests.

Association meetings, welcome home Wednesdays, member mingles, the Christmas party are paid with member dues.

Think we may try the Welcome Home Wednesday for our Dec.Trip...

Thought I remembered on here, someone saying it is held at the Dance Hall???? Does the time of day change from week to week, season to season???

Thanks! If it is late morning, early afternoon, maybe a lunch on the Boardwalk would be nice!:dance3:

It's usually 2-3pm every Wednesday.

Every once in a while it's cancelled due to some scheduling conflict. Doesn't hurt to ask at one of the DVC sales booths. They should be able to tell you if it's still on that week.

If you go, try to participate in a game. There's a pin for participating and a pin if you win!

I do not know which they give now.
