DVC Member Cruise & Platinum benefits ???

Hi,

I posted this on the DIS cruise board but no one knew, so I thought I would try here...

We will be trying to book the 2011 member cruise. If we go, it will be our 11th DCL cruise -our first as platinum castaway club! Since this is a special cruise chartered by DVC, do you still get the platinum benefits - free Palo dinner, choice of behind the scene tour, etc.
Also, would we get the platinum lanyard or just the special DVC lanyard?

Yes you will get the platinum perks and quite possibly you'll get both lanyards.
CC/DCL doesn't differentiate between the method of payment.

Thanks for the answer. The reason I was wondering is that it's a special "chartered" cruise rather than a normal DCL cruise. Wasn't sure if the special perks would be done on the member cruise.

We just got back from the member cruise. We are currently gold CC level and got all of the gifts from CC AND DVC. We received both lanyards at check in. So, yes, you get all the perks of both. Good luck to you on booking next years member cruise!!!!!!

Was this your first member cruise? DH & I went a few years ago ('06??) and sailed with Roy Disney & Jodi Benson - had an amazing time. Jodi put on an incredible concert and Roy did an interview with Jim Lewis -telling stories about growing up with Uncle Walt - a truly unforgettable cruise. Then we did the member cruise in '09 - had a good time but were "underwhelmed" compared to the other member cruise. (The fact that many of the gifts and ship decorations were leftovers from the '08 cruise didn't help).

Can't wait for the '11 member cruise on the Dream.
