Hi, we're new-ish to DVC (first stay booked for Jan at OKW, although we've already rented points at SSR and BWV). Anyway, I'm planning to schedule a massage for a quick visit in October, and wondered if I am eligible for the DVC discount at SSR even though I'm not staying on points.

TIA,

Erica

You can (and should) ask when you get there, but I believe you must be staying on points to get the discount. That's because the info on the Members' Website says you must present both your Member ID card and your KTTW card. That implies you must have "Member" printed on your Resort ID. You won't have that if you are not staying on points. But if you are having the massage no matter what anyway, just ask. You never know.

Best wishes -

P.S. Here's the info from the DVC Members' Website:

I was never asked to show either.

I guess they just assume that you are staying there at OKW.

Anyone know what the difference is between a "spa manicure" and a manicure one would get at any run-of-the-mill nail place? Obviously there is a difference in terms of dollars, but I was wondering if there was any other difference.

I was told when making a reservation at the SSR spa that you did not have to be staying on point to get the discount. :teeth: Of course CM have been know to be wrong

If you read the insert for the 10% discount, you just have to show your DVC card and your key card from any WWD resort for the 10% discount, it says nothing about staying and using points to pay for your room.....I would believe from the terminology that you would be able to get the 10% as long as you have your DVC card and a resort key card. Please let us know when you return! Good luck and enjoy the massage!

I made my reservation for a massage at SSR, and the women taking the reservation asked ONLY if I were a DVC member, not if I were staying on points. The one I booked will be $100 instead of the $125 general public price. I'll check back in post-trip and let you know how it goes. (BTW, I'm certainly not trying to get a discount I'm not entitled too, but I'd love it if I am!)

Didn't think you'd try to get a discount if you weren't entitled...but you are entitled...I think it should be even if you were staying off-site, but that's me and not Disney...but then again....they're making the money nd I'm not...just spending it! Enjoy the massage!
