DVc mambernumbers?

Ok this is so strange and If freaky. I was woundering if any one has ever had some one find out there membershipnumber?
I have just joined dvc I love it and do not blame this on them or any disney stuff

But i got home today from dentist and had a message. I called. My lady told me that my dad (i will not say the name) wanted to sign on the deed with me. and had my membership number.

Well i was livid i called dad wrote him and finely got in touch with him

He didnt do it. He dosnet have my membership number and wouldnt do that with out talkign to me.

It is strang. Well im going to watch my acounts. dvc has took care of it and said ill be fine but im still frecked.

My mother in law is saying well with us elmnating every one i could think of..then there must be some one who got in dvc comps..there records..how else would they ahve a number i got last week

So im just putting out a fair worrning to all those in dvc and join dvc there may be some one out there getting membership numbers and trying things.

Im going to keep an eye on my acounts non stop and pray I stoped this guy befor he got fearther.

He studered and spoke slow..and Had my member ship number and dads name..

I have elmnated every one I know..
No one but me had the number and member sevices last week when i called to resrve room at dlh.

Have you asked over on the DVC forums?

Then again, if you're a full member I imagine you've already signed everything you need to sign, so what could any person be trying to do with this information?

Don't worry. My wife's person was stolen a few years ago, including her DVC membership card. We just put a password on our DVC account (they will do this for you if you ask) so when we call member services before they let us do anything with our account they ask us for the password. The membership number by itself isn't that valuable if you password your account.

i just got all my papaer work signing it this week

and ty ill do the password thing thanks.
Im not mad at dvc..im mad that some one would try that and hope they catch them heck my dad could put the guy in jail for frud hehe

I think its probably fine. Still I would call Member Services, tell them what happened and see what they say. It may be that they will issue you a new Member number.

Every time I have called to make or amend a reservation, they have asked for the last four digits of my social security number. So they ask for more than just your number to make or amend reservations.

I agree about getting a password, that way you'll feel better for future's sake. Who knows how this individual got your number, its strange that he also had your phone number and knew your dad's name. Very weird indeed! Good luck!

While you need your membership # to access account, when calling MS you will be grilled for lots of other "personal" info...

address
phone number
last 4 digits of SS #

As for "online" access, did you signup yet? Just wondering if you may have used the same login info as the regular disney site...may have been compromised that way.

FYI, the Deed cannot be changed w/o you "signing off" on it via notary

Lastly, if you feel you were a victim of "fraud"; you are entitled to have your credit report pulled free. can also put a watch on your account for 3 months (wherein all new credit requests must be verified via a phone call to your home).
