Hi All! My family and I have been DVC members for 4 years now and live on the West Coast. We have enjoyed the absolutely glorious Aulani 2x (going again this year!!) and the Grand Californian each year since we purchased our membership (plus years and years of trip prior to being DVC members!). We are now looking to go to Disney World in 2016, but I am uncertain of how to combine DVC rooms with the Magic Your Way pass. Is this easy? Can we get the dining plan if we want? I'm sorry if this sounds novice.. I feel like an expert on all things Disneyland.. but Disney World is a little more complicated - even when I listen to the Dis Podcast each week!
Thanks for any advice in advance!! :) :goodvibes

At Disney World the dining plan and MYW tickets are available. You simply add a dining plan (which must be paid for at the time it is booked) to a DVC Reservation by calling Member Services. It MUST be added at least 48 hours prior to your arrival at the resort, I would suggest allowing a few days more than that. Assuming you are flying into Orlando International (MCO) you can also add the complimentary bus transportation to/from the airport if you wish.

Park Tickets can be purchased online through regular WDW ticketing, I'd suggest getting your tickets at least 60 days in advance of your trip to be able to book FastPass +.

Once you have your ticket confirmation/willcall number link it to your resort reservation/magic bands through the MyDisneyExperience website.

Basically you build your own package by adding the components separately. The only thing not available would be any "Dining Plan/Activity package" those are for cash guests. Those package are more like an all inclusive, they include not only dining, but also activities like parasailing, horseback riding, and so forth. DVC may, if they wish, purchase activities separately but not part of a pre-paid package.

DVC Reservations at Disney World are not eligible for any free dining promotions that maybe offered to cash guests.

Thank you so much for the info!! That is hugely helpful! There is much more planning involved in a Disney World vacation! I'm enjoying the process! Thanks for the expert tips and suggestions!

You can also purchase tickets wherever you want and link them to your My Disney Experience account (in advance is best as Chuck mentioned for FP purposes). You don't have to buy them from WDW.
