DVC Lounge Reservations

Hey guys, so I was just wondering if a reservation was required every time you visit a DVC Lounge and are you allowed to make these reservations ahead of time or do you just go and hope there's availability once you get there? I imagine we will want to go to Villain's Lair when we're staying at BLT one of these days and I also imagine that most people will want to be there during the fireworks show. Which is the most popular Lounge? Thanks!

There are special paid events at the villain's lair that you can book reservations for, such as the wicked wind down dessert party. But other than the paid events, it's on a walk-up basis only.
