Regarding your standard view room request, I always go for a room close to the lobby at Kidani, regardless of view, it may be noisier but it doesn't add more walking on top of all the walking we do at Disney. We didn't request it one time and got a room quite far down the left side of the resort and it was really unpleasant hiking back after long days in the park and after 10 courses at Victoria and Alberts.
By selecting close to the lobby, you inherently get another option/selection by being relatively close to transportation (if that's an option I'm remembering correctly from online check in). There are a few rooms that could in theory put you closer to a door that lets out very near the Kidani Bus stop but again I'm not totally sure that by selecting near transportation will net you that set of rooms if that's even an option.
Then you can pick what floor category you'd like to be on as your second option. If you were at a Savannah View I could see picking a higher floor, but with a standard view it's up to you what floor you want to stay on. I've heard that some standard views have partial savannah views so you could check out the room views that other sites have available.
Kidani doesn't really have much going on in the lobby though with no Counter/QS option so we really haven't had any noise issues with rooms close to the lobby. That's part of what I like about the resort, along with it being the first bus stop for every park except Disney Springs.
