DVC is driving me crazy!!!

Okay, not DVC but SO's father is! They recently (as in three weeks ago) bought into the DVC and ever since we returned home from our Christmas/NYE trip where they bought in its been a sea of pressure to decide when and who's going and we have to do it RIGHT NOW!! We're getting calls every other day that we have to put in our room request for May RIGHT NOW!! But we (as a group) don't even know who's going, what dates we're going, etc..

Its driving me insane!!!

I understand a certain amount of points have to be banked by the end of the month, but you can bank without booking right? Is every DVC trip from now on going to be this stressful to book? I'm ready to pull my hair out!!

LOL! You sound like the people I try to invite with us! I just made reservations for early December, and I can not get an answer from guests if they will come or not! I went ahead and booked anyway, and if I don't have an answer by June, I'll change to a 1 bedroom and save a bunch of points!

The pressure may come from a UY issue. If they bank their points they can not use them for the booking in May. Sounds like they have an August UY, meaning that by Jan 31 they have to know what to do with the points. If they bank them they can not be used in May of 06. Also they may not have enough points for everyone if they have to borrow from the next UY. Remember you can't borrow banked points.

We wanted BCV for May, and I booked at 7 months. If you can't decide, your choices will be limited, but I'll bet you already know that.

Yes, they can bank without booking, but they couldn't then bring those points back into this use year.

I think the people you should talk to are the owners. Lots of us here are frustrated when we invite people who can't/don't/won't commit, but if there's a legitimate reason we'd back off. Maybe they should book what they want and see what's left when other's decide.
