DVC invitation + $100 to use at DL.

We just received an invitation to listen to the DVC timeshare speel. If we listen to it we get $100 to spend at DL. Has anyone else ever gotten one of these? If so, was it tolerable?

My nephew and his wife did it a couple of years back. Got their $100, must not have been too bad.

You gotta know that Disney won't be as pushy and persistant as other time shares. We are members at WDW-OKW and it was the best thing for us.

They are not pushy at all. It is worth it. We did it about 2 months ago.

How do you get this invite?

We are actually considering purchasing DVC (take at least 1 florida trip a year for the marathon), and think it may be a good deal for us.

If we can get 100 on top of it...HOO YEAH!

Not sure how I got it, except for the fact that we recently stayed at DL and also that I sign up for anything that has Disney's name on it. For example the DVC information kit. The free pin came a few nights ago in the mail. It was a reminder to call and schedule an appointment. I am going to check and see if a referal is needed or something like that when we do the presentation.

Be careful you might end up with a DVC purchase! We went to check it out at WDW last January and bought on the spot. But we are glad we did so I guess that is a good thing. They are not pushy at all. There was a DVC booth in DTD when we were there (pretty close to World of Disney if I remember correctly) in September. I would imagine the little sales pitch won't take long. Unlike WDW there is no DVC property to really tour. There is a DVC board here on Disboards, you might go over there and look around to see if it is something you are interested in. Also DVC has a website. For $100 I think you can't go wrong.

Be sure that you check out the DVC Board here. They are running a special right now of 15% off if referred by a current member. Trust me, there are plenty of current members who will be happy to refer you! From what I understand, people have still received this discount even though they were already in the DVC "system."

We just bought 3 weeks ago and look forward to our first trip home in April!
