I am planning a dvc trip with my parents and my dad is in renal failure so the chance is there that we may need to cancel. I am not worried about our points as we could do a last minute trip before the expire bunts there anyway to insure flights? Again I am not worried about ours but for my patens it was more than double to get refundable ticket from sw so that doesn't make a lot of sense forthem. I would just buythe cocker from them but I read the focuses are onlygood for original person now

i might just have to call mS. I am hoping there is a way to insure my parents flights. don't care about points as we would just go on an extra trip. Our uy is august with travel planned in oct so if we had to cancel I believe we could still bank points but we would have to use the points that were borrowed from next year as well as the once banked from last year.

I was just on the phone with DVC and they said their insurance is "door-to-door" covering flights and all travel/fees associated with the trip.

Be sure to check out the pre-existing conditions language. I know that the pre-existing conditions clause is waived if you buy the insurance when you pay dues in January. Not sure how it would work in your case.
