Does anyone have any information on the points that will be required to stay at the new Hawaii and California DVC resorts? Do you think they will be similar to the other resorts or do you think they will be higher???

Thanks!
Nick

nope. Hawaii is still a ways off. We are hoping to see the Grand California DVC details soon. They are having a kickoff event at DL the end of May where we believe they will be unveiling the new models. Would be great if they announced price and point charts then too :goodvibes

Edit: note, public documents for the new KTV (Contemporary Villas) seem to imply those point requirements will be higher. Could mean other future DVCs will be higher too....

Is there any law, or statement that says they cant raise rates at already established DVC locations? Meaning, to stay Boardware, in a Standard Studio in January is now 85 points for a week, can that ever go up? Could disney change their values so then what was 85 is now 115? I know weeks change, but use any standard time in the cheapest week, is that possible?

I believe the total points for an existing resort can't change, but they can change the allocation/categorization of weeks and room types... I don't think that has happened often in the history of DVC though...

if demand for BWV studios in January goes through the roof, they can make those weeks more expensive...but as stated, the total points to stay at BWV MUST remain constant...so they would have to make BWV 1BRs cheaper or BWV studios in June (or whatever) cheaper to offset that increase...

IIRC, OKW studios used to require 7 pts per weeknight in low season, but they reshuffled the pts to make it 8 pts per night by lowering other OKW booking options. it's pretty rare for that to happen, though.
