I am giving our points to my son for his honeymoon. Will he be able to get DVC discounts if he stays on our points? If so, do we give him our card for proof?

His room key card will have DVC member on it - that should be sufficient

thanks

Guests are entitled to all member discounts except a couple. The include the member cash discount and the UMP discount though they have usually extended this to guests (and renters) in most situations.

We will be renting points for our trip in May and I was wondering what benifits we might be entitled to. I read we are able to get all but a few of them...can someone tell me what they are

Thanks

I was also wondering about this. We are giving our points to our DD for her honeymoon too. Thanks everyone for your replies.

MaryJ, and PalVal, when are your children going to be at WDW for their honeymoons?
I am also using my points for my son's honeymoon. Maybe the couples can get together for dinner.
He is getting married on June 27th, and he will stay at BCV from the 28th until July 1. Then I have booked a 3 day cruise for them, and on July 4 they will be back on property for 5 nights at WLV.
this entire trip is a surprise for them. I told them I am planning their honeymoon, they need to bring summer clothes, and I will give them the paperwork the day they get married. They trust me enough to know I will send them someplace special.
I am making lists of stuff for them including where to go on the cruise, and things to do at WDW. I would appreciate a list of discounts to include also. Peggie

My son is getting married Oct 2 and leaving for Disney on October 3, returning on Oct 10. They are staying at BWVs. I feel very blessed that we can give him such a nice gift. If it wasn't for DVC we would have never dreamed of giving him a one bedroom villa at Boardwalk at the normal price! His future wife cried when we gave it to them!

dennisnlisa: Technically, renters are not supposed to get DVC privileges. Guests of member are entitled to them if there is no cash transaction for the lodging. That's how the documents read.

But that's not to say you won't get the benefits.

My daughter and her future husband are staying at BCV June 14-19. Then they are headed north for a few days in Gatlinburg. They wanted to split their time between the two places. They are getting married on June 12.
