DVC grocery department at Contemporary?

Was poking around the Contemporary last week and I noticed these new cold boxes at Concourse Sundries and Spirits. I don't know how long they have been here, but I'm pretty sure they are fairly new. It sure looks like a DVC grocery department to me! There are 9 cold boxes here, much more than at the gift shops of most other regular resorts. If you notice, they are stocked with lots of the same types of beer, sodas, etc. Looks to me like these are just fillers, waiting for DVC to move in so they can be loaded with all the regular DVC type groceries. There are also alot of regular shelves in the store stocked with the same type of snack item over and over again.

That's very true, ever since the early 80's that Sundries store has has the biggest variety of drinks and supplies. I don't really think it has anything to do with DVC moving in.

I don't recall that many cold boxes. I do remember it selling more liquor than it does now. It's very odd that they are stocking so much of the same product in each one. In any case, it'll be plenty of room for the DVC groceries when DVC does move in next door.

Those coolers have been there since the day the hotel opened, all of them. It is the only place in the front of the house that has the original Contemporary logo left in the entire hotel. Check out the etching in the glass.

OP is referring to the expansion of the Grocery offerings at the main store at AKL. This was done last year in preperation of the new villas that were being built in Jambo House. Since DVC units have kitchens, resorts that host them offer expanded grocery choices. This was also done when DVC units were added to Wilderness Lodge and the Beach Club Resorts. It seems that in the case of the Contemporary, these have always been present.

Actually I think it was a joke reference to people being told and speculating was the new building at the CR is going to be. There's a thread around here some where on it. Someone said it was going to be the first Walmart on Disney property.
