Hello, everyone! I'm doing a bit of planning for my parents. They really want to play 2-3 rounds this summer. My dad consistently plays twice a week, my mom not so much. They would like to play the Oak Trail Course, mostly for my mom. Also, they would like to play an additional course together and one more round just my dad. They are DVC members and plan to purchase the Golf Membership the day of their first round.

Here are my questions:

Do you know if the member rates include the cost of the carts and the practice balls?

Has anyone played Oak Trail recently? I'm wondering if they take good care of the 9 hole course.

Do any of you serious golfers have a favorite course that my dad might like for the round he plays by himself?

Conversely, do you have opinions on the easiest 18 hole course for the round my parents play together?

Thanks so much!

Jennifer

1) The balls I'm not sure about, DH always brings his own. The cart is included.
2)Oak Trail is in excellent condition.
3)We like Lake Buena Vista, if it's very busy, they may send your Dad out with others players.
4)I would say either the Palm or Lake Buena Vista.
Also go to WDWGolf.com they have a lot of info there.

Carts are included in price of the four main courses but Oak Trail, the 9-hole course, is walking only (you can take a pull cart). That course is usually in good condition but pace can be very slow at times because it is heavily occupied by beginners.

Range balls cost extra.

Best course by far is Osprey Ridge.

Lake Buena Vista is the easiest of the four main courses although none is overly easy or overly hard. Palm is actually more difficult than the rest although close in difficulty to Osprey.

DH just bought his DVC golf membership this morning and played Osprey Ridge. Verified what others said-no to practice balls, yes to cart. This morning he bought the DVC golf membership for $50 and paid $59 to play Osprey Ridge for $59. Meanwhile, one of the guys he played with paid $159. So DH thinks it's a great deal. The best course? By Friday he'll have played them all again, so then he'll pick his best. Before today, he'd probably say Osprey Ridge, but the construction has it looking less appealing.

Thank you all so much for the replies. This information will be so helpful when making the decision on which course(s) to play.

It looks like the DVC golf membership is really worth the money when you factor in the reduced cost and the cart fees! :thumbsup2

My DH has 2 tee times in early June, Magnolia and Osprey Ridge. He has only played at Osprey Ridge before which he really liked but is looking forward to the Magnolia. Both tee times are at 10am which lowers the rate to $39.

DH plays so much golf that I've threatened to put in a change of address to the country club to have his mail delivered to him there. He thinks Osprey Ridge is definitely the best course; Lake Buena Vista is his least favorite.

Priceless!!!:rotfl2:

That's funny, because I can't imagine LBV being someones least favorite. I LOVE that course. We always stay at Old Key West so that may be part of our attraction to that course. However, really you can't go wrong with any of them.

I give a big thumbs up :thumbsup2 to the DVC golf Membership. Especially if there is more than one golfer in your family. My 13 year old and I are begging DW to go back this fall so we can get some more rounds in.

Finally, as far as the condition of Oak Trail. There is NOTHING in poor condition at Disney. Not trying to be a smart A@@ but it is just the truth.
