DVC Golf Membership changes - good news!

The DVC website does not have this info yet, but it is in the May-July 2008 Portable Perks (we are at OKW now). You can now get discounted rates before 10 AM and book them 90 days out as well. Here is the pricing:

I'm pretty sure you can do Twilight Golf any day after 3:00 for $30 to $40 per course... any of the courses. You still get trasnportation, but you do not get any pre-round balls to hit.

How long does it take before you are picked up? So you stop at all of the resorts?

We will have a plane to catch the day DH plays his first round of golf at WDW
and I wondered how long we should leave to make it back to catch ME.

Not sure how it works at OKW or SSR but at AKV, BWV, VWL, BCV, they simply get you a cab or sometimes a van at the valet stand service like they would do for anyone going somewhere esle in a cab and it is a direct trip at no charge. Coming back pro shop calls a cab for you (again a direct trip). Assume at OKW, SSR, which do not have valet, that you call the front desk. As to how long coming back from course, allow up to 15 minutes for cab to get there once called (usually it is shorter) and then another 10 to 15 to get back to hotel.

If you make arrangements say the day before, you tell them what time and they are there. I've been picked up in a van (at my cabin at FW) at 6AM...right on time and right to the course. At POR I was picked up out front and again straight to the course. Can't recall exactly who to call (front desk I'm sure can help) but it's IDEAL! And now with cheaper rates too!!!!!!!

No, you have to have the DVC Golf membership

Bell services at each resort handles the cabs to the golf course. A voucher is needed to get the cab and that voucher has to be gotten at bell services going from the resort and at the pro shop going to the resort. Bell services has to call the cab. We have used the service at both SSR and OKW and it is a pain packing the bags to the Hospatality House for the first round (if we are playing multiple times, we let the pro shop transfer the clubs to the next course we are playing). On one occasion, we were able to convince bell services to give us a voucher the night before and had the cab pick us up at the unit we were in the next morning, but that was only one time and all the other times we had to be at the HH. It is the same coming back to SSR and OKW. The cabs are supposed to drop you at the HH. We have been able to convince a couple of cab drivers to take us directly to our units, but that has been harder to de recently.
