Hi all - well DH and his friend are finally going to golf after many visits and they are very excited. Had enough of watching other guys play from our patio at OKW, so they want us girls to watch and wave as they golf on by!:rotfl2:
Anywhooo, we were looking at what the DVC $50 membership included, and there is no mention of a golf cart - has anyone used this, and what is included besides the discounts???
Thanks!:worship:

You buy the DVC discount card at the pro shop when you show up for your first round and it costs $50 plus tax and is good for a year (you can make the tee times before you actually purchase the card). You then pay a discounted per round price using the discount card. A DVC member and up to three guests can get the the discounted per round price based on the one DVC discount card of the member. For the four main courses (Osprey, Palm, Magnolia and Lake Buena Vista) the per round price includes cart and you can get tees and a divot tool from the starter at the first tee. It does not include range balls, clubs, or shoes which can be rented for an extra cost. If you play the 9-hole executive course, Oak Trail, the per round price there does not include a cart because carts are not allowed on that course.

Thank you! I knew the DIS would come through faster than calling one of the pro shops tomorrow!!!

Yes, DH used it last month, and he was thrilled. He played early in the morning and the DVC golf card now applies to early morning rounds. He figured the card paid for itself the first day.

When we're going in August, it's considered value season for golf - with the $50 membership (good for a year), my DH and friend are splitting the cost of it, and they can golf at the LBV course after 10 am for $39 each - I think regular rounds cost $100 or more without the membership.

Before 10:00am it's $59 at this same time. In October and November, I know it's $79 before 10:00am. The most expensive time (I forget the fees) is January thru April.

Amount you pay for before 10 a.m./after 10 a.m. rounds is:

Peak Season Rounds January 21-April 25 $109/$89
Value Season Rounds April 26-September 30 $59/$39
Fall Season Rounds October 1-January 20 $79/$59

How much of a discount that actually is varies according to season, whether before or after 10, and course chosen. Example, Osprey is the most expensive course and in peak season its usual price is somewhere in the $160 range, but Palm and LBV are in the $140 range at that time of year. And though that summer rate looks real low the dollar discount is not the highest, for example, after 10 in the summer Osprey is usually in the $65 range for regular Disney guests and LBV in the $55 range.

If you have the membership, do you have to be staying at a DVC resort on points to use it?

No, you don't have to be staying there. I asked this question a few weeks ago when I called for tee times. :goodvibes

Can anyone tell me the cost to rent clubs/ shoes? We would love to golf when we are down there but don't want to lug everything!

Do they have women's clubs and shoes?

Clubs are $55.00 and shoes $10.00

They do have Cobras for Women

My DH and I are DVC Annual Golf Members. We live locally and play the Disney Courses often. I just wanted to comment that you will love the courses. Each has a different flavor and all are wonderful. My favorite is Osprey Ridge which feels like Old Florida. Once you are out on the course you don't see anything but the beautiful scenery and wildlife. The Palm and Magnolia courses appear more formally manicured with lots of flowers. LBV feels like a resort course that meanders between OKW and SSR. We love them all, I hope you enjoy.
