My parents are DVC members and we will be staying with them at SSR in June. Can my husband and son get a discount on golf if my father is not golfing with them? Any other tips or info on golfing at the e Disney courses appreciated.
Thanks!
Short answer: no, they cannot get a discount.
Long answer: depends. I've had the pro shop ask for my DVC card, other times not. It's no different than booking a resident rate at your local muni. Sometimes they verify, sometimes they don't. YMMV, but reminder that the golfwdw DVC/AP/Military page specifically says in bold red that they require you to show your DVC id for eligibility.
Other tips: depending on when youre planning to play and the season, you can sometimes find a better deal on GolfNow via a hot deal. I've played the Palm Course for as little as $40, booked the day before.
Thanks for the info! I will tell them to check golfnow if they do anything last-minute. In general, how far in advance should they book for a morning tee time at LBV or one of the other Disney courses? We are going the first week of June.
@D-Trick is correct about pricing going up - so book soon.
2 weeks ago we spent the week playing LBV, Palm, & Magnolia. We were never asked for the DVC card unless we were purchasing merchandise and getting a discount at the pro shops.
Serious question: would the OP's husband and son qualify for the discount if they were staying with DVC members on points? Probably technically not.
My guess is that if the OP's parents booked the tee-times, they'd get the discount. Note, I'm not trying to bend the rules at all here.
Prices will fluctuate throughout the 6 month window.
I have 3 bookings for September - I cancelled & rebooked one of them TWICE, because the price dropped.
Keep Checking!!
