I was looking to buy DVC Gold AP for my family. When I go to check-out if defaults my country to USA and state to Florida. Is that normal? Doesn't give the option to change the country or even the state. Do AP always default to Florida and USA when purchasing for everyone?
Perfect. I was able to buy them over the phone and link them online to my account. Do you receive an actual certificate in the mail to exchange or just the "virtual certificate" in My Disney Experience account?

I was told nothing would be mailed I would get the pass at ticket window or guest services by showing my license and DVC member card. I was given the confirmation # to link to MDE to make fast passes
I can personally confirm that all you need to do is to go to Guest Services - you won't need an email. Just be sure to bring your membership card and a photo ID for each adult pass That's all we needed.
I was able to book FP+ and ADRs in advance and activating the passes did not impact those in any way.

Same here and everything worked quite well as far as MDE. Was also able to purchase and link a couple of two day passes I purchased for my in laws through member services. I do have the ticket confirmation numbers my iPhone just in case - we arrive in a couple of weeks.
We did the same thing for our Christmas trip. Bought the AP on the phone. Typed in the reference to MDE booked FP+ etc and good to go. Then we went to Disney Springs guest relations to activate the passes. They still give a plastic pass as well as activiting the MDE and any bands you have because of the discounts. You have to show the pass and ID. Nice to get those dicounts though!
