DVC Gift - Mickey Hand

I was going through our DVC backpack that we received when we purchased, as this is where we keep our info. After all this time, I noticed the Mickey hand with clip on the back. This may sound stupid, but is this supposed to be a pass/I.D. holder?
I don't think I'd feel comfortable using it for that purpose (doesn't seem secure enough). Or is it just supposed to be a place to keep your membership card?

What have you used your Mickey hand for? Natt

I always assumed (but we know what happens when you do that ) that it was a luggage tag. You know the tags you put on luggage with your name and info.

I have had my Mickey hand tags stolen twice! I have since bought other Mickey hands on ebay. I wonder if they are the same ones that were stolen?

I can't believe I just logged on to post a message about the backpack, and someone already started a thread about it! What are the odds?

My question is what is the purpose of the zippered bottom section? Is it for ice packs if you want to carry cold items? I can't imagine it just being a separator, since when you unzip it everything would fall out. And the side zipper doesn't seem too secure either.

Oh, and I assumed the hand was a luggage tag too.

O-K, so I guess the consensus is that it is a luggage tag, but the responses prove that it's not a good use for that either! So we have this exclusive DVC item that we can't proudly display because it's a hot commodity!

tvwalsh; I seriously believe you probably bought back your own tag!

cheyita; I guess you could keep water bottles in the bottom pouch, you'd just have to be ready to grab them!
Actually, as beautiful as the backpack is, I would never consider using it for park touring. 1) It would probably get stained between water bottles and sweat and thereby 2) It would probably rub off on your clothes!

Like I mentioned before, it just seems like an appropriate place for us to keep our DVC/Disney info.

Guess I gotta look at the thing more closely.. I didn't think it was a backpack at all due to the narrow straps (that would get painful after a while). I thought it was a pool pack.. lotions and such in the zippered bottom, towels, etc in the upper. AND a water proof mickey hand for ID.

We didn't get the backpack or the hand because we joined too long ago. We did get the beach bag thingk, and I carry it to the parks all the time!

I use my backpack as a carry-on when we fly. The Mickey hand stays attached to the backpack, have never used any of the zipper compartments. Actually I think the DVC keyring is still on there too.

We have the backpack and mickey hand....the hand isnt too useful. The backpack we used it last november on our trip to WDW. The zippers were quite solid and we had no problem. Liked the side zipper cause I could take things out while my DH still had it on his back. We used the bottom pocket for wet things....ponchos, etc and that worked out great.

DH didnt think the straps were very comfy, but other than that, the bag worked well and was pretty sturdy.

I LOVE my backpack and use it almost daily. I's great for taking to work- and I can stuff an extra book and my lunch in the main section. The bottom part is where I stash my wallet, checkbook, brush and lipstick and I'm good to go for a day at school. I cut a card to fit in the "Mickey hand" and put the address info. on it- yep, a luggage tag!
