What does this mean free parking? Can we go to the parks and park for free or can we stop at a DVC resort and park and take the bus? We live an hour away and are planning a quick trip just for the day but of course don't want to shell out the $$ to park. Thank for any tips!

Just go to the DVC Hotel guard stand and tell them you want to take advantage of the free DVC parking so you can take the bus to the park.

The guard will tell you where to go.

Good One HBC - I'm sure the OP with 4 posts will appreciate your response!

Free parking at the parks is for all guests staying on property.

Unless you are a registered guest at the resort, not sure you will be allowed to park in their parking lot for more than 3 hours. You will get a 3 hour parking pass for the resort.

If you have an annual pass (and if I lived an hour away, I certainly would) that will entitle you to free parking at the theme parks.

You do not get free parking at the parks simply by virtue of being a DVC member, you must be staying at a DVC resort for that. You are entitled to free Valet parking at DVC resorts that offer that service by showing your DVC membership card. However, tipping the valet is appropriate...so it will still not be "free."

Plus, technically, the valet parking at a resort is to use the services of the resort and not to go to a theme park. All the deluxe resorts located adjacent or very near to theme parks have signs that state that they cannot provide theme park parking.

Parking is $10.00 per day now. Fla residents get specials all the time. What kind of ticket can the Op get that is cheaper then the AP?

FL Residents can get a seasonal pass with the following blackout dates for 2006:

December 22, 2005 - January 5, 2006
April 8 - April 21, 2006
June 10 - August 17, 2006

The price is approx $250, this pass does not include parking, so if they drive to WDW 10 days a year, and are DVC members, they'd about break even on a DVC member AP.

We didn't even have to tell the guard - they saw our parking pass (for SSR) on the dashboard and waved us through at both BWV and WL. It's a nice perk :)
