Hello DVC mathematics fans!

Today, I have a challenging DVC equation for you. If you have 150 total points available, with no additional borrowing, 4 adult guests, 2 of whom will share a bed while the other 2 prefer separate beds, and want to book a 7- or 8-day reservation, during Dream Season, where would you stay?

So far, I have identified 3 possibilities:

(1) VWL studio - 2 adults in the bed, 1 on the sleeper sofa, 1 on the pull-down
(2) VGF studio - buy 3 points, 2 adults in the bed, 1 on the sleeper, 1 on the pull-down
(3) Disney Collection: Port Orleans - Riverside (Alligator Bayou) 2 adults in the bed, 1 in the other bed, 1 on the pull-down

Any other solutions to this equation would be greatly appreciated!

Jim

Unless something has changed, I don't think VWL have a pull down just the bed and sleeper sofa.

I would do VGF for the 2 showers. 4 adults getting ready at once with 1 bathroom is rough.

It has changed with the recent renovation.

You've got the 2 that fit the criteria. The closest 1BR is the AKV value but that doesn't have the 3rd sleeping "space" and is 167 points for 7 nights. It's also 167 points for an OKW 1BR but that's only for 6 nights but would give you the sleeper chair and sleeper sofa.

Wait - (2) AKV value studios for 7 nights would be 152 points. They each are 76 points for 7 nights.:thumbsup2

Enter the chances of getting TWO value studios. How far out is this being booked? That has to be factored in, too.

I once erroneously thought I had a chance at getting TWO value 2-BR's. And we own at AKV. :rotfl2::rotfl2: I have no idea what I was thinking. Perhaps my head was buried in the sand. After all, it was AKV...

Just something to think about...chances of getting any of the choices being considered.

This just changed.

The remodel is finishing now, so the member site hasn't been updated yet, but very soon VWL will be in the odd position of sleeping five in the studios but still four in the 1 bedrooms. Still with the ability to accommodate a fifth on the floor in the 1BR, as it has previously done.

The remodel added the Murphy bed to the studio, but not the 1BR.

Yes, there's a walk-in shower in the room with the sink and a tub/shower in the room with the toilet (in a studio).

Good to know, we have only stayed in a 1 bedroom.

Thanks

Great idea, Kat! :thumbsup2

They are AKV points, so I would have the 11-month advantage.

Realistically, I think Riverside would be a sure thing and AKV and VWL might be possible.

The pull downs at Riverside are pretty small. If the adult using it is on the small side it might work, not otherwise. An air mattress would give you more room and will fit (just barely) in a Riverside room (twin size that is). It sounds like the pull downs at VGF might be larger.

Thank you, Firepath. My knowledge of the Riverside rooms is based on the Allears.net photos and videos, not first-hand experience. I had thought the pull down was a true twin, but if it is not, then it will be a problem.

Perhaps I should aim for 2 AKV value studios and explore the possibility of a VWL studio at 7-months. Also, if neither of these works out, an OKW studio, with 2 queen beds, would likely work out better than a queen and a sleeper.

I sincerely appreciate everyone's feedback!

One other option would be to rent some points to get 2 studios. With 4 of you, it likely would not be that much of a cost for each. This would give you much more space and comfort.
