We have been DVC for 10+ years and never knew about this although Membership extras says it is "returning" April 27 so wondering if anyone else has done this and if so, if it is worth the $85 pp? Thanks in advance!

Was wondering the same thing. This is different from the non DVC fireworks cruises, those depart from the TTC and are onboard the ferries. This one boards from the Contemporary and is in 2 boats seating 10 persons each (probably platoon boats?). It looks nice!

Weeeelllll, my experience was not so great. Had it booked for July 3, 2019, which meant we would be able to see the special holiday fireworks from the water. Was so psyched for it! We met at appointed time at the Contemporary dock area. Then comes the questionable weather... They held us in the tiny room for over 1.5 hrs. Mind you, the chocolate covered strawberries were available for about the first 10 minutes, only. The divvied us up into 3 boat loads, and we hung out in those groupings. The family I was paired up with were very nice, and the husband kept asking for champagne refills for our table :) We would not have been so unhappy had they brought in some of the snacks we had been promised on the boat, but they didn't. On this same night, Woody's Roundup BBQ was a special ticketed event being held at the Contemporary. As Fireworks time approached and we were still being help captive in the room on the dock, folks started asking about refunds. Their solution? Herd us from that room over to the portico area on the convention center side of the Contemporary and let us watch the fireworks from there with the BBQ folks. If they had done that an hour earlier do we could enjoy the snacks there, it would not have been so bad. But we were told we were not allowed to go through the doors! We would have had a better view from the Top of the World lounge! We only were refunded half, so I paid $37.50 for one chocolate covered strawberry, some cheap champagne, and a not so good view of the fireworks!!!

So now I am patiently waiting for the next time July 3 or 4 is on a Wednesday because I really want to be on a boat during a show with the perimeter fireworks...

Ouch, that doesn't sound good at all. WDW / DVC can't control the weather, but if the event doesn't happen they should have given a full refund.

However when the weather is nice, this looks like a nice event still!

I will, too!

Thanks for the information. We live in FL so, unfortunately, we go into any event in the summer knowing that it can all be ruined by thunderstorms. However, they should have given you the full refund!
