I know I can email from website., what is the email address if I don't go through the site.

You need to provide the same information (name, member number, etc.) that's entered on the website, so you may as well just use that form.

Using the form allows MS to verify that you are who you say you are because you logged in using your ID and password.

Sending just and email will usually result in them requesting additional security info or they may ask you to use the website.
