DVC Downpayment Question

Can you use a Disney gift card to pay twoards your down payment? And I am not referring to the $500.00 incentive gift card. I have some other gift cards that I have gotten for Christmas and my birthday. If so do you have to do this in person or can you give them the numbers over the phone? Thanks!!

I don't believe that gift cards are accepted for down payment. If you read the back of the gift card, very small print, it will give you a list of things that the gift card cannot be used for. Your best bet would be to ask your guide.

I did ask my guide and he said you could use it in person but not over the phone which I thought was strange since you can do other things with it over the phone. Guides have been known to give wrong info so I thought I would ask and see if anyone on here had any experience with this. Thanks for your reply.
