We watched a commercial for DVC being filmed at Disneyland Friday night. Unfortunately, what we heard of the script offered no clues as to future development.

The DVC rep. in Disneyland indicated that most of the establishments in Down Town Disney now offered discounts to DVC members and there may be a discount on annual passes. Discounts sounded similar to what is offered to annual pass holders.

That's good news. :cool1: One step closer for wanting to make a trip out there. :moped:

Does anyone know anymore about these DVC discounts out there at DTD? I'm going to DL this summer, and I'm already planning to amble on over to one or two DVC sales booths and be VERY nosy! Also, DS is working there this summer, and he's already been told to keep his ear open to any discussion with the words "Disney Vacation Club". I'll post if either one of us hears anything.

Heh, heh. This makes me think "...we have spies... everywhere..."

Next time we'll have to send a DIS DVC agent with directional microphones and IR/telephoto cameras.

Thanks for the news though. My sister would join DVC immediately if they had a DL DVC (in-laws in Southern California).

Yes, we are waiting to find out too. We are headed out there in July and have been holding out buying our passes hoping for some kind of discount. We called member services and they told us to call back monday :sunny:

I was just about to post about DVC at DL.

After the DCL repo cruise we spent three days at DL and noticed several kiosks and a desk at GC. Talked to a DVC person about how it was going and learned that the DVC team at DL are mostly folks from FL who transferred to California. They have been there since May 5, 2005, and sales are well above their expected numbers. They projected sales of $500,000 for May and were above the 1 Million mark. Got a nice welcome home.

At this time they do not have a model to show people but are doing something with virtual reality.

There was not a member’s perks form printed and we were told just to ask at various places for a DVC discount. The two DVC CMs we asked were unable to tell us any specifics about DVC discounts. I think a printed list will be in place some time.

When we were at DL about a year and a half ago I recall wearing an item of DVC clothing and having several cast members ask us “ What’s the Disney Vacation Club.”

If you are visiting family in CA have them buy your tickets for you. CA residents receive a discount on DL tickets.

I went to the DVC presentation at DLR yesterday and the host (or whatever he's called) hinted that there will be a DVC property at DLR sooner rather than later. He said he can't confirm anything, but he left his family in Florida not to sell Florida but to sell California. He did also say that with Disney anything can change!

I think it really only is a matter of time. There is a HUGE market here (me included!) that think Florida is too far away. But if we were to purchase the DVC I'm sure we'd make the trek to WDW. We're looking into it and after I have most of my questions answered (thanks to all of you!), we'll probably buy us some points! Sight unseen. Scary!!!
