Has anyone been successful in getting a discount for the DISNEYLAND AP?
When I called about renewing mine, they said the discount did not apply to a renewal, only new APs. My AP is due for renewal now, and they just started the discount in May. This seems wrong to me, as it gives me no opportunity whatsoever to use the discount. Also, the guy at the AP office said that it was just a $20 discount, which is the same as the early renewal discount. His implication was don't bother trying to get the DVC discount when you are already offered a $20 discount.

So is there no real advantage to being a DVC member when it comes to the Disneyland AP?

For someone who doesn't visit Disneyland Resort on a regular basis, the discount will work. For example, our DL APs expired in early October. Since we're not going again until late December, it makes more sense to buy new APs when we get there, using our DVC discount. But if you visit regularly, then it's probably not worth it.

I did some research, and all the discounts on DL APs are the same. The discount is $20, no matter how you get it (AAA discount, military discount, etc.).

Thanks Rita!
Have a great time on your upcoming Disneyland trip!
(I'm ordering up the sunny 70 degree weather for you now!)
