Reports of several visits to the Wynn Resort by Disney have come to my attention by employees there, don't have any details but repeat visits makes me think that something is going on.

I know that the Venetian/Palazzo which is next door has had years of money problems and a timeshare building that was never completed.

What are your thoughts and if Disney built in Vegas would you vacation there and if DVC built there would you buy there?

Would definitely go to Las Vegas!! Buy there? No.

Would definitely check it out. Buy? No, I'd end up having to sell it to pay back the casinos.

Maybe the Disney suits are simply checking out reciprocal trade possibilities for BVTC?

To your question, would I buy there? No way.

I'd go for that!

Except rooms in Vegas are usually very reasonable so it would have to be reflective of that.

Las Vegas and Disney are our two top vacation destinations. But we bought DVC to save money and have larger accommodations when traveling with the family to Disney. We get such good deals in Las Vegas it would never make sense to use points there.

From a timeshare value standpoint one should think of LV, Orlando and Branson in the same thought. All with great timeshares but overbuilt and generally a poor value to own. The system access is helpful but it's a little like HI (limited long term interest) only lower demand. It's more of a one trip deal for most members. IMO the one option that such expansions bring is that of an expanded sales opportunity but DVC hasn't shown enough backbone to be aggressive enough to funnel potential buyers in to the sales process to justify this approach. It's very possible to be FAR more aggressive in the sales process of getting potential buyers in and in encouraging them to buy and still be appropriate and professional. I'd love to see it as I think more choices are good for members but I doubt it's likely. Just having a presence in LV has a certain amount of negative perception to the masses. If they want to expand, a couple of more HI resorts on different islands, A Caribbean resort or two, a ski resort and the like would make more sense. Of course they need to take a different approach than they did with HH & VB where they tried to go on the cheap and create demand in a low demand area. The advantage of expanding to other HI islands is they can tie in the demand for Aulani to the process.

Might go to one, but would not buy.

We do enjoy DVC resorts with no parks attached though.....going to Aulani in May.

I have only been to Vegas twice with the last trip just two years ago. I would never take my children there based on the strip club advertising and the scantily clad ladies dancing on tables at the entrance to various casinos. Disney can build a self contained, family oriented resort but they cannot control the rest of the strip. If they build, I'll go but not with my kids.

Found this on the net.

No and No

Ah, so you are thinking that, perhaps, the Disney suits are in Vegas to SELL technology and hospitality ideas/hardware to the Vegas hoteliers? Hmm, cool thought.

Lol - there's zero chance of me wearing a MB there. :rolleyes1
