Wondering if anyone may be able to answer this question. I read on another web page that non DVC members who rent points from members cannot book the DDP. A collegue of mine is looking to rent some of my points and is seeking to add the DDP to his ressie. Can anyone tell me if I can book the DDP for him when I make his ressie.

Thanks
Smitty

I had friends come with us this January on a separate ressie and they were able to book the DDP, no problem.

Maybe what you mean is that the renter can't book the DDP, the owner has to do it for the renter? Only members can call now.

I just booked a studio for my next door neighbors to stay at SSR in December, I was able to request the DDP for them, they have to pay for it upon their arrival at check-in.

Actually the correct answer is the renter can not book the Dining Plan but the member you rent from can.

Of course that is something they would have to agree to do, as only the member can book it.

So to the OP yes you can add the DDP plan to the person renting points from you. It is possible on the other forum they were discussing that the actual person renting can not book it.

Book the plan if you are staying it's worth it.

**************EDIT _ Please disregard below posting. Just found my answer*********************** :(

If a renter rents points from a member for a reservation stay during a free dining time period, can the member book the free dining package for the renter?

Just curious. And how does this work with number of guests - for example, 9 people staying at a grand villa at okw?

Thanks!

We are 2 families (4 members each family) staying in a GV. If we do the DDP will it appear separately in our keys or will they combine both families? Thanks.

If you stay in the same room, it will be combined.

Sorry to butt in on the thread, but I was coming to ask a similar question and figured this was the place. We just bought a DVC last year (actually my parents did) and will be using it for the first time in October -we just submitted the request tonight. How do we go about adding this to our reservation? Do DVC'rs get any sort of discount on the dining plan??!?!

A word of caution. When I do it again, I will have the dining plan as one transaction, not have the individual families pay seperately at the desk. All of the dining credits will be available on all of the cards. Loved the dining plan..:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Once you have the reservation, just call Member Services and add the dining plan. It must be done prior to checkin.

The DDP is already discounted heavily. No further discounts for DVC. In fact, we DVCers are fortunate to be able to add it IMO as there is no ticket requirement for us and we're not paying rack rate. Both of those are requirements for nonDVC reservations.

Welcome home!:goodvibes
