DVC discounts

Hello! I've mentioned before we do pretty much the exact same vacation annually (8 nights) during spring.

I'm working out the cost of owning vs renting dvc long term and have most everything worked out.

While I know discounts may change, are there any specific discounts in the areas listed below currently offered for people who have purchased resale only (no direct points).

1) dining plan (or other dining discount)
2) 4-6 day park tickets

TIA!

If I'm reading your question correctly, there is no dining discount and ticket offers that people who are buying resale now can take advantage of.

I think they have 4-6 day discounts at regular intervals of the year normally 20-25%. I normally wait for that and book. I guess that could change with time but so can the member benefits.

Hope that is helpful.

Dining discounts are questionable. Resale buyers don’t get “certain discounts” that are part of the “Membership Magic” program. I, personally, do not believe the normal 10% discount is part of that program, so all members should qualify. Disney doesn’t make it clear, and we don’t have enough feedback to know for sure.

It may be worth considering purchasing resale and then adding on 25 direct. You could then potentially get a savings on 4-6 day park tickets from time to time. More significantly, if you can stagger your trips by just one week each year (Beginning of May in year one, end of April in year two), then you could buy a discounted annual pass and use it over two trips, giving you a significant savings.

Thanks! Staggering trips is something I didn't even consider but definitely doable since I go Easter and typically if it's late one year it's earlier the next! Thanks! Going to now investigate the dates of my trips for the next 20 years LOL

Actually kicking myself, I spent 6 days at Disney last Easter and 6 this Easter within the year. How did I not think of this!
