Dvc discounts on dcl?

we are embarking on our first cruise this weekend and just got a phone call about some "new dvc discounts while on the cruise". Anyone have any insight or knowledge of this?

I think it's 10% off merchandise. Be sure to ask for it and bring your card.

We were just on the Thanksgiving cruise and it is 10% off merchandise at the gift shops just like in the parks.

Yes, I believe so. It seems to be ever changing, so hard to keep up with all the discounts. And even then there are numerous establishments that do not allow for the DVC discount.

there is also a dvc members mixer thing they do the first or second day of the cruise, usually have a raffle, give aways, got some free booze and such

When I was on the Magic at the end of October, the DVC discount was 10% off purchases of full-priced items totalling $50 or more. I say full-priced as any items discounted/on clearance aren't counted towards the $50 minimum (our cruise was the final 7-night from NYC so all NYC merch was 50% off and thus not applicable)

Yea, there's some discount for Visa cardholders too I think. Since Gold and Platinum already get the 10% off (which does include clearance items), this DVC discount doesn't really do anything for us....

I'm on the fantasy now. I confirmed with Matt on the ship, we now get a 10% discount on most merchandise. He also recommended trying to use it towards excursions too. I'll be in Cozumel and can use my data there through att so I'll update.

Update: 10% $50 or more as announced at the dvc meeting.

Just got off the fantasy and I can confirm "with membership card" 10% off merchandise $50 or more.
