I know when we still had the Disney Club that we were able to get a discount on Annual Pass vouchers when we bought them through the Disney Store. Does anyone know if the DVC Disney Store discount works for these vouchers?

Thanks,

Sarangel

The DVC membership doesn't get a discount on AP's, no matter where or how you buy them.

The only DVC admission ticket break is a 10% discount on length of stay passes (Ultimate Park Hopper pass). Depending on how long you are staying, or when you are returning, the Annual Pass might still be a better deal than the LOS pass.

What about the passes they sell at the Disney Stores? Can't you get your 10% discount on them because you are a DVC member (or is this what you were talking about)?

I think they carry the Park Hopper and Park Hopper plus tickets for 3 to 7 days. And correct me if I'm wrong, but they are not length of stay are they? I thought they were the passes where any leftover days were good until you came back again to use them.

My family is going in October and I'm trying to figure out how to get the best deal on getting us in the parks, so please feel free to offer any advice you may have.

Thanks,

Geoff

No, the only discount on those tickets now, is to buy them before going to WDW by purchasing at the Disney Store. I just went to purchase an extra 5 day hopper yesterday. They no longer accept the Disney club card, and anyone buying at the Disney store gets the same discount. We can still buy an AP voucher with the Disney Club card until the end of the year. We are thinking of buying several vouchers (I know, big one time outlay), and holding a couple for a couple years. I did ask yesterday if that was possible, and they said yes.

The 10% DVC discount at the Disney Stores applies only to merchandise. It never applied to things like ticket media or Disney Dollars.

However, posters have reported that occasionally in the past, some Disney Store CMs confused the DVC discount with the Disney Club discount. Thus, DVC members were able to puchase DC-discounted tickets with only their DVC membership. Since the DC is ending 12/31/2003, it is unlikely that this will continue to happen (and by now, most Disney Store employees should know the difference, anyway).

I've found that the best available discounts on park hopper tickets can be obtained from some of the online ticket brokers. There are several legitimate brokers that sell Disney admission media (with Disney's authorization). For more information on those, check out the Budget Forum, www.MouseSavers.com and/or do a search on the Budget Forum for Paramount travel.

There are not been discounts on APs/PAPS except for the Disncy Club. I don't look for any discounts at all on the annuals, beginning 1/1/2004.

You are right Carol, after 12/31/03, there will be no discounts on APs. That is why I asked the DS CM about the use of vouchers purchased before that time. That is also why we are going to purchase several before 12/31/03.

It was never 10% on passes only 5% and you cannot get it with your DVC membership.
The only discount available to DVC members on tickets is the LOS or whatever they are called now and they need to be purchased when you check in.

I'm glad this conversation took place today b/c I had a guest in the store today (I'm a TDS assistant mgr) who insisted that he received discounts on passes while in the parks (with his DVC card). I hadn't heard of anything and told him that the only discounts I was aware of - as a DVC member myself - were the LOS passes. He continued to insist so I gave up, but it's refreshing to know that there doesn't seem to be any new information out there that I've missed. ;)
